Full indica question

I've heard that a full indica will continue to grow after the stretch. Kind of a consistent growth rather then 3 weeks of crazy stretch like you get from sativas or hybrids. Anyone have this experience? Aurora indica is my strain.

Not specific to indicas. I've seen some plants just have a very slow stretch though where it will start buds before its quite done stretching.

Hopefully that's the case with mine. This is my first grow. I'm wanting taller bud sites but while the plants stretched, I trained them under my Scrog screen instead of letting them grow height on them.

Most indicas are pretty predictable. I veg them from clone for about 4 weeks when they are 18-24 inches. Note -- most of my from-clone indicas get FIM'd or topped after 2 weeks or so vegging. That affects height. The 20 inchers or so go to flower room for 7 weeks to finish. If they go into the flower room at 20 inches I can be awful damn sure to harvest the plant when it has reached a final height of 48 inches. They grow for the first couple weeks at 12/12 until they start to show flowers at 2-3 weeks at 12/12. Most all my experience suggests that indicas will stretch for up to 3 weeks and then vertical growth stops as the plant pours all its energy into bud production.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Do the buds continue to grow length wise after the initial stretch?

The buds get fatter, length wise depends on how close together the nodes are .but no for the most part ,no it won't.

Yes, that is when you should see obvious daily increases in bud size. Now you are full-fledged flowering so get your 12/12 plants as close to the light as possible. If you are concerned that she will continue to grow into the light you should monitor that daily. Plants can get about 14-16 inches from my 1000W HPS flowering bulb. First sign of being too close to the bulb will show up as larger leaves start to curl at their edges. Back 'er up, !

Good luck, BigSteve.
