This is my curse since I dont like Indicas much :). Me, and Indicas do not mix. Especially when driving. I get tunnel vision, forget where I am going, yet oddly enough I know exactly where I am on the road at any given instant. Now Sativas, are a different story. I love driving after smoking a Sativa. Its a great experience. Music sounds 10 times better. Sounds incredibly clear. I can hear things in songs I can't hear when sober. Bass is increased. I can feel it in my whole body. And when you get that euphoric smoke, all my cares melt away. Im an angry driver, and Sativas prevent me from getting angry while driving :)

Okay, I promised some pics. So Ill get to that now.

Ill start off with a bagseed that is apparently confused. It can't quite figure out which way the light is.

First pic is how the leaf naturally orientates itself.

Confused Bagseed.jpg

Even when turned right side up, the leaf still wants to turn back over.

Confusedbagseed2.jpg

On the subject of bagseeds. Doublebubble is great if you want to stay awake. The last two nights Ive smoked her around 10 at night, and haven't fallen asleep till 3-4 am. Not good when I have to work the next day. This is the one drawback of Sativas I sometimes hate.

I need to find me a really narcotic smoke for when I have trouble sleeping. I may try some Deep Chunk from Tom Hill. Its supposed to be a very narcotic Indica. Maybe one of the Chunky Cindies will give me that sleeping medicine I need.

Now a few pics of the Skunk Haze Male clones. These clones were taken while the fathers were flowering. One looks just fine. The other is completely confused. He started out with 3 bladed leaves after rooting, went to 4, then 3, and now single bladed leaves. He hasn't taken kindly to the changes in light schedules.

Aside from that he's a damned good looking fella. Really branchy unlike the other two male clones, and pretty short. Ive got one remaining male that has two clippings I am trying to root. They're not looking too good, but I may get lucky.

Im definitely gonna pair him with my hazy pheno, and keep those seeds separate from the rest of the F2s. They both branch like crazy, but the female stretches too much. Maybe he can bring it down in the offspring. If she turns out great, Ill definitely pop a bunch of them in the future and selectively cull down to say 10 and flower them out.

First pic is the second fastest flowering male. He has no lateral branching.

IMG_0928.jpg

Now the slowest flowering male now. I believe he came from Skunk Haze G. Quite a contrast compared to his brother.

Ive added more clones to the tent. Two JTRB's. One is topped and the other isn't. This will be interesting :)

I also added a Skunk Haze A clone, and the Satori clone.

Now pics of them.

The new JTRB clones added to the tent arent looking great atm, but after a few days they'll green up and look better if they're anything like 3rd D, and JTRC. You can really see how well she has responded to being topped in these pics.

IMG_0940.jpgIMG_0932.jpgIMG_0931.jpg

This is what JTRC and 3rd D look like after a few days in there. Nice and green.

IMG_0946.jpg

Now for Skunk Haze A clone.

IMG_0923.jpgIMG_0925.jpg

A couple shots of the Satori clone. She's tiny. Like 7 inches tall or so lol :) I just want to get rid of her. It looks like I wont have to deal with the quadfoliate crap with this clone.

IMG_0926.jpgIMG_0927.jpg

Group Shot now.

IMG_0945.jpg

They all look to be 3-3.5 weeks flowering, so at least I wont have too long till I can harvest these little girls. 6 weeks or so. Ill be throwing some Chunky Clones in there soon once I pull down the moms.

Well, I got to smoke the Satori taken down at day 51 I think. Smoked 2.5 bowls between 3 people. I dont think Ive ever been this high. Im pretty impressed, when I expected she needed at least 3 more weeks. She makes DB look like a 6.

A fucking + on Potency.

She was a very smooth smoke in a dirty pipe even after only two days dry. Then my buddy packed a bowl with his brickweed and as soon as I hit that I got that nasty harshness in the throat. I refused a second hit of his stuff haha. I may be lucky enough to get a small amount to cure for a headstash. I will definitely pick up another pack of Satori and hopefully have a better run next time with her.

She's great for driving. Makes me just want to drive all night, going nowhere in general. Music has never sounded so good as of right now.

Ive got a few pics of the JTRB's I placed into the tent on the 21st. They are looking so much better after only two days. Pics in ascending order.

IMG_0966.jpgIMG_0967.jpgIMG_0968.jpg

They've taken a liking to the flowering tent. Leaves have all perked right back up, and are getting greener. They'll look great in 2 days I bet. Ill keep following pics of their improvement each day.

Looks like I need to invest in some better lighting for the clones. I hope I can pick up a quantum badboy t5vho floro set, in a few weeks.

That topped one is gonna make a fucking beautiful little bush of bud I bet, and no seeds!

Yep, aint music great under the sativa influence! One of my hobbies is building speakers and sound systems, aint nothing like good sounds and the 1080P LCD front projector on a 8' wide screen rocks! I bi-amp using two main amps driving 4 speakers and one Denon high end 8 amp HT receiver driving the rest. Few people bi-amp indoors, don't know why not. Any time you get the bass out of a main speaker (and surrounds) and send it to a separate amp/subs that is made to get down heavy and clean, you improve the sound overall. When designing our custom home, I wired and configured my HT combo living room. All electronics are under a stairwell for easy access, glass doors open to the HT seating area, and I prewired with 8 cables running in the walls and two more going to an outdoors patio from the main HT receiver. 15" subs, acoustic suspension design in heavily braced cabinets, are on 12 ga. wire and can take anything you throw at them without bottoming out, getting hot, etc.

Male haze looks wonderful. Everything looks great. You're gonna have some good crosses!

Have fun,
UB

Damn. You must be a jack of all trades. Id love to have a nice sound system for my Pani 50" plasma. Not quite 8 feet like you have, but still love it :) I dont know jack shit about sound systems or hooking one up. Ill just have to hire you to do it all for me heh. I can't imagine listening to some tunes on that while blazed. Ill have to put that on my to-do list.

Back to the ladies now. I was scoping them out last night, and the Chunkies are beginning to get ambers. Ill give them 4 or 5 more days and chop 4 or 5 of them I think. The bagseeds and Eds will enjoy the extra leg room.

Speaking of them, if you anyone ever wants a low odor strain, well Cannacopia C99 X Deep Chunk would be it. Over 50 days into flower and when I lean into sniff them, I get pretty much nothing. I can sniff and sniff and not come away with any discernible smells. She'd be great for a stealth grow. I hope a good cure will bring some smell out.

Speaking of crosses, I had decided I was just gonna inbreed the Skunk Hazes, and the 'purp' bagseeds. Im not sure if I want to make F2s of the Chunkies. Too slow of growth for me, and Im ready to move onto other strains unless these 6 ladies impress me. Ill still keep the male clone around for a while longer. I have decided though, I will cross the Skunk Haze males with my Early Durban females. I think a O.Haze/Skunk #1 x Durban Poison/Skunk #1 cross sounds interesting. I didnt think about that till after reading your post. I could definitely see me popping a bunch of those seeds and hopefully coming away with something real nice.

The EDs are barely pollinated from the hermies and mistakes, so I will do a thorough search and remove any already existing seeds that are forming on them, and then hit them up with some S. Haze pollen.

Okay enough going on now. Got to go.

that sucks about the way the satori came out but i'm happy you were still able to enjoy the smoke. i took my satori to 11 weeks and she was definately on the leafy side but the smoke is absolutely sick and it's only been curing for about a week. i'm pissed i didn't clone her because i didn't treat her the best and she never hit her potential. you are going to have some absolutely awesome crosses with those strains. i'm jealous of your patience growing all that sativa.

I can't wait to try my little Satori clone after she's taken to full term. Im gonna go share the small amount I have with another buddy and see how he likes it in a bit.

You haven't even begun to see patience yet..

Just wait until I get around to growing out the Durban Poison. I want to cross it with the Skunk haze if the DP is worth the effort. It'll be along time before I get to try any of their progeny. Probably be a year from now! 90-120 days flowering for the DP.

Maybe I should just pick up some Senegal Haze from Afropips. Thats a 24 weeker right there..lol But seriously, I am tempted to try it someday.

Well, guys i harvested a Chunky Lady last night. Ill be harvesting some 4 more today, as well Purp B. The seeding is worse than I thought, so Its time to just bring em down and make room. I have no clue what type of yield Ill get after removing a bunch of seeds. Ill have some pics later as well to share.

Day 56 Updates:

I decided to weigh 50 seeds on my scale, and it equaled 1 gram. I was expecting worse, but still annoying to have so many.

I decided to be proactive and start removing seeds from plants that are in early flowering still. I ended up removing almost 330 seeds from KFC alone! The next furthest bagseed along had 125. The remaining bagseeds, and Early Durbans had anywhere from 5-25 seeds each. It doesn't appear as though they will have alot more seeds in the future, but Ill check them in 5 days again.

The newest clones that have been in there for close to a week had no seeds. A small amount of brown pistils on two small colas. Ill keep a close eye on those plants, but overall they were almost all fresh white pistils.

The remaining plants may get plucked as well. I dont want to handle the JTR B & C, C9, and Skunk Hazes much as its easy to damage trichome heads, but I might be able to keep damage to a minimum. Ill look them over closer tomorrow and decide.

Maybe we are turning the corner, and I can do this journal right. So many screw ups along the way, but I suppose that's normal. This is only my third indoor grow, and Ive got a long way to get everything right.

Speaking of grows, my first outdoor grow is stumbling along. Its rained twice this week, but plants still showed under-watering. A fair amount of fan leaves completely scorched. I gave them all 1.5 gallons each, and Ill visit them again tuesday for a checkup. Ive been neglecting them a bit too much.

I accidentally split ones trunk a small amount about 10 days ago, and when visited today, it had split much further thanks to the rains and her packing on weight. I used burlap strings to tie her up, that I pulled from the burlap I use to help keep the trunks cooler. Drops the temps by alot, so use them if you grow in bags outdoors.

These ladies have been flowering for an easy 3 weeks, maybe a bit longer. I guess they have some Ruderalis in them because they didn't freak out to the light change when first placed outside. They were outside a month before even showing signs of flowering. They look like completely different plants from the indoor ones. The nodes are so much more packed. Half an inch or less on one lady who is definitely the yielder among the three. I could get some nice long buds from them if I can keep the bugs away. Time to grab some Spinosad to treat them.

The ladies today had finished off their reservoir. I think I had 2-3 gallons of water in there, and 12 plants on the blumat system used up the water. I put 4 gallons in it, and will make sure to top it off near the top from now on. I need a larger reservoir in there. Need to build some platform to set a 18 gallon rubbermaid tote onto. Hard to dial in blumats when I can't even provide enough water. Grr.

Onto other stuff now. I noticed while disposing of rootballs the roots at the bottom were yellowish-brownish, and no root hairs and poor lateral branching. These roots were in bad shape down there. Not quite root rot, but the bottom roots were struggling. The roots at the top of the containers for the outdoor ones were beautiful white, thinner, and had incredible branching. It looked like a lattice work of roots spreading across the top of the soil.

I will be changing my soil mix in the future and making other changes. I know they suffered from over-watering along time ago, but Ive got a problem down there.

I think Ill make a thread discussing this, what causes it and how we can fix it. Look for it some time in the next week.

I thought Id post a picture of what Satori made me feel like the first time I smoked it.

I was watching Spongebob and playing around with my camera, and captured this great pic.

Unfortunately, it hasn't made me feel that way since. :|

Well, I think I promised some harvest shots of the Chunkies. Two stand out as heavier yields. They are the branchiest of them of course.

IMG_1025.jpgIMG_1024.jpgIMG_1026.jpgIMG_1027.jpgIMG_1001.jpg

Unfortunately, when you get closer, all you see are seeds. Still very resinous, but seeds everywhere. Ill dry them, and cure em for two weeks for even trying to remove seeds, so we wont know what final tallies are for awhile.

I can't wait to move the first set of clones into the flower tent, and give them all a second run. Ive noticed among the 6 clones, 3 reveg much quicker than two of the others. 3 clones are spitting out single bladed leaves, while the others are not doing this. Im sure they are still 'flowering'. I hope the cuttings root soon, and I can just move these 2 Chunky Cindies into the flowering tent. They are at a pretty good size to move in there, and looking pretty good. Real branchy too.

Ive noticed my clones have responded better to topping, than the seed plants. Thats always a good thing. The clones that are topped all have 4-5 dominant colas. Much better than plants from seed who mostly got 2 or 3 dominant colas, and rarely 4. I also topped right above where the lower branches were well developed, and used the tops that still had poor lateral branching still as my cuttings.

I think in the future when I top seed plants, I will first off veg them for longer, then top above the 4 most developed lateral branches, and use the tops as my cuttings.

Although, my outdoor plants have done much better with topping. All of them having 4 well developed tops.

I harvested the 3rd D, and wont be showing any pics of it. It was in the worst spot in the tent, and yield is pathetic. My seeded Satori Mutant gave me about 1.5 grams of use-able smoke. I may get 3 grams from 3rd D. Hopefully the clone does better..Can't do any worse. Very frosty, but no smell whatsoever to her. Very stealthy. Smells even less than the Chunky Cindies, and I didn't even think that was possible. Nothing at all like the strain description. I do hope a good cure will bring something out of them.

Smells: Tropical flavors range from Coconuts, pineapples, Kiwi and fruit punch

My ass!

Ive noticed the best smelling plants out of all of mine have been the bagseeds. Aint that a bitch? JTRC would be a close second though.

I noticed something very odd about my humidity levels today. My hygrometer hangs at canopy level a few feet away from my oscillating fan.

When the fan is on, my humidity level is at 48%. When I turn the fan off, the humidity level actually drops down to 38%. I tested this 3 times, and the humidity is always lowest when the fan is off.

This seems backwards, as I have always read an oscillating fan helps reduce humidity.

Does anyone else care to try this out, and report their findings here?

It would seem like having increased air flow around buds that are drying would be a bad thing. Im currently not using any fan to help dry the hanging plants.

I know Ive harped light bleaching, heat stress, etc, but I got a great picture from the 24th that really shows the stark contrast between a cola getting adequate amounts of light, and one thats getting too much.

We've all seen the symptoms of heat stress, but sometimes we can still get bleaching without leaf curling, or immediate leaf scorch. I imagine there is a midrange point where there is a gradual decline of chlorophyll from the light being too intense, and I think these pics really illustrates it well.

Anyone that keeps their lights right on top of their plants are doing a terrible thing. My 600w was around 15 inches from the top of the canopy, but most of this skunk haze was probably closer to ten inches away before moving the lights up as high as they can go.

Ive also noticed the buds are the last to be affected by too high of light intensity. Bad leaf scorch will occur before buds show signs of stress.

IMG_1002.jpgIMG_1003.jpgIMG_1004.jpgIMG_1005.jpg

I have since tied her about another 8 or so inches lower, and moved most of her underneath the reflector now that I have more room in the tent. The bulb is 20+ inches away, so Im hoping there wont be any further problems.

Ill have some Early Durban pics tomorrow when I wake up. This is all for now.

That should turn out to be a very nice sized Bud indeed Mr. Coulier.

How are your male Purps going? Decided on a Keeper yet?

I hope that cola turns out well considering she's been in the least light for the longest, but her bud size really isn't noticeably different than the ones closer to the lights. Ill throw up a pic I forgot about of that crazy cola.

IMG_1006.jpg

Ive already collected all the pollen I care for from the males. The fast flowering one was pretty much done before the other two offered up their pollen. Ive decided just to mix all the pollen up from those 3, and pollinate a clone of Purp B in a couple weeks when she's ready to receive it. She's in the large tent flowering currently.
