fucking happened again!!

much like my last grow, I am a few weeks away from harvest, and my damn hps blew its bulb already..... It hasnt even made it through the whole grow.... This is the second day its been out, and I just ordered a new one....

how do yall think the plants are gonna react to being in the dark for a few days until i get the light???

Any idea what caused the bulb to blow?

I have no damn clue on that one..... the first one blew even quicker.... I never had a problem last year when i was running the MH system.... but now that I've stepped up the 600w hps, I seem to be blowing the shit out of bulbs.... I'm perplexed

are you using the same ballast? maybe its that. where are you getting the bulbs from? maybe they're to blame. sorry to hear about that by the way. that sucks ass. i hope your plants make it!

what watt of bulbs? what kind of ballast? what kind of light?
did it explode, or did it just fry out?

when the first bulb failed, I was using htg's ballast and an agromax bulb. it went out in a few weeks, fried.... I then bought a dimmable lumatek and another bulb, not exactly sure what brand this bulb was, but it fried out as well...

Same thing just happened to me contact the manufacturer and ask them to replace it. If your lucky they will.

yea, the customers always right.

shit i have a friend that buys anything he wants over the internet, don't matter if it's best buy, sony, clothing stores, the p90x (bought 1 got 3), bose(bought one, got another free $1,600 surround sound)

and he just calls and says he never got it, even if they say we guarantee we brought it to your house he just screams over and over and over until the supervisor comes on the phone and then he screams at him again and again until he gets another sent, and always sends the extra one, getting a free thing all the time

most likely would, but its quicker and easier just to order a new one.... then i can get around to contacting them.... cause i'm sure i'll need another bulb eventually

i'd look into a new ballast, and make sure you have a spare globe on hand next time - if it's a few days they will probably hermie out

Did you clean the bulb before switching it on? The grease from your fingers can cause the bulb to blow sometimes.

I've put a table lamp in there for the time being just so they'll still have their schedule.... hopefully the new bulb gets here soon

ya, at least stick a couple CFLs in there so you don't herm em

Yea, I would at least have put a few cfl's in there to keep them on their schedule. Maybe they would think it was just cloudy for a few days, lol.

I have thought about this very thing happening to me though, so I bought a combination MH/HPS ballast, and I keep an extra MH bulb around to swap in, in case my HPS ever blows on me during flowering.

I suppose we'll see ... I can say that the buds seem to have fluffed up a bit since they've had no light

FINALLY got the bulb today..... HTG can suck my ass..... I'll update in about 30mins when the light (should hopefully) come on.....
