Fucking grass hoppers!! HELP

Alright i went back today to look on my babies and i found 3 grass hoppers on the very top of my biggest plant and the leaves are being chewed at like crazy i will get some pics very soon. But my important question is since these monsters are eating my plant would this cause it to make the leaves turn brown because some of the leaves are dieing?? But all my other plants are looking the very best so if its not the GH what else could it be? And if it is the GH how could i stop them from destroying my plant?

Are you absolutely certain they are grasshoppers?

Grasshoppers (especially adults) are notoriously hard to get rid of using insecticides (or anything else, for that matter..)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you in hopes that they are crickets, because I can deal with crickets. Crickets are a snap =)

Got any pictures?

Oh there grass hoppers for sure:cuss: and i will have some pics up tomorrow....

I don't know man, the only way I can think of getting rid of grass hoppers is buying a pesticide, that's if theres alot, if theres only a few catch em and kill em off before they can breed. And i'm sure if your plant was doing just fine before these grasshoppers came, then the browning is related to em.

Moths, leave baby caterpillars.........If they are caterpillars,buy some neem,or some predators....

Get some neem oil and drench the tops and bottoms of all the leaves. It won't kill the grasshoppers but they won't eat near as much and tend to move on. It will kill any aphids and other small suckers. Good luck man because if you're having grasshopper problems this early in summer later on will be a bitch.

catch as many as you can, put in a jar and crush them up. add 1- 1 1/2 clove garlic and 3 cups of water. let stand overnight or longer ( longer is better) and strain all the shit out of the water. use 3 oz per 16 oz water. spray down leaves.

the whole point of this is to catch bugs and use diseases that the bugs you catch have to combat the rest. the more you get the better chance that more will be sick.

Would this effect the roots or taste of my plants if it ever got in the soil?

oh no, it's an organic oil extracted from some tree totally safe for your babies. Do a little research on it and see. If you have to go for some pyrithrins or worse I'd be a little concerned about the taste but you have a long time before that. If they make it.

Yeah I've heard about the bug deal, You catch as many of the bugs that you dont want and blend them up. Bugs are reppelled by their own blood and guts.

I bought a hive of the preying mantis eggs at a nursery at the beginning of summer. They never hatched; I think they were too old. But I'd get them again ($8.95 for 300 eggs!!!) if I have another aphid problem and I'd really get them for GH and watch them battle! Good luck.
