Fuck ya'll, I'm from Texas

I have lived my whole life in Texas, I have traveled all over the world but I still love this place. I hate the closed minded conservative mindset but this is where Willie Nelson is from. I would venture to say he was one of the first mainstream crusaders for our cause. I consider myself pretty cultured but something deep down inside me loves being at a little honkeytonk listening to some good Texas country with a beer in one hand and my other around my wife. I read another thread about someone going to see their favorite rapper and I figured I would give the good people of RUI a little taste of Texas for a bit.

We don't have a lot of crime in rural Texas for that reason.....My CHL instructor told us out in west Texas they have one trooper patrolling a huge area and when a farmer has a break in, he shoots the guy, calls the trooper and the trooper says he will be by in the mornin'.

You do realize that they have hurricanes right? They had a mandatory evac of the island during Ike. I am safely inland and like the area. The only thing Texas has going for it weed wise is that it borders Mexico so schwag is cheap. Other than that, get your CHL as soon as you can, even if you don't carry the cops give you big breaks on traffic shit.

Concealed Handgun License. Texas is one of the most liberal states when it comes to guns and use of deadly force. If you plan on doing any type of stealing (breaking into cars or homes) when you get here I would strongly advise against it. Texans love shooting criminals and we also love no billing (dropping charges at the grand jury) other Texans who do the same.

lol, funny story, I am a saltwater fish nerd and looked into volunteering at my local zoo. I have kept sharks in the past and they had 2 that I had actually kept, they were in horrible shape so I emailed them. They were so happy I emailed them and told me where to go for my drug test. Now this was before I started smoking so I could have passed it no problem but I told them that that was a deal breaker. I mean talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth....

Welcome to Texas son. It is 100% legal to shoot someone toilet papering your yard as long as it is at night. No need to be in your house, if they are ON YOUR PROPERTY and are up to no good (the penal code lists offenses but all you need to be worried about is that you were "afraid for my life"). My instructor told us a story about a guy who lived in an apartment complex that had a homeless guy who kept breaking into cars. The cops refused to do anything since they never "saw" him doing it. So this guy tips over a trashcan and waits in his second floor window with a shotgun with slugs. This homeless guy comes around and the guy shoots him 3 times. The police show up and the guy says "I was afraid for my life" and nothing else. A grand jury no billed him in an hour. Stealing in this state is like playing Russian roulette and I am god damn proud of it.
