those old traps kinda suck go buy a pack of the sticky pad traps make a circle around the grow box touching them so he has no choice but to walk on it.As soon as he puts foot down he's caught. Then you have 2 options.Smash his head in or be a animal friendly guy and take him somewhere far away and let him go.

:peace:   If your cat brought it in, get a different cat( the more aggressive the better). I stick the peanut butter right up in the trap if this is the kind I am thinking of... it is square and you pull the rectangle leaver back and attatch it to a trigger I smear the peanut butter on there thick then put it in the frige to get it stiff..... also they make sticky pads you can put food on also.... but be sure not to be too stoned as if your cat finds it you will be in stitches on the floor....for hours.... I know....!!!!   ....Also move everything in your house clean and sweep clean out places you don't think of behind the fridge under the stove behind the bread box clean out the toaster and toaster oven.....clean your dirty clothes.....lots of moth balls.....sorry to say that....   Well if these tips aren't helpful sounds to me the mouse is smarter than you and your cats.....ROTFLMA....

dude, if that happened to me, i'd have so many traps set up to get him, if hes evading your traps, he's outsmarting you. outsmart him, think like him, place them strategically, and he is sure to loose.... how is he getting in?

mice cant get in my grow room, well, they might be able to, but i dont see how. unless they crawled down the vent tubes.

glue traps are cool too, then in the morning you can face the little bastard if hes not dead from a heart attack.

Hey Purplesticky,
I have worked as a pest control technician for several years, for you to get
control over this mouse or mice, you have to know a little about their behavior first.
Mice are very curious, nocturnal creatures. They tend to check out new things in their environment at night. The reason the mouse just ate the peanutbutter off was you probably had too much on the snap.
They have 10 x's better scent detectors than we do so you only need enough for some smell and that's it. SlimJims work well too.
Mice tend to stay within about 10 feet of their nest, and they tend to stay
around the outside perimeter of the room they're in when they hunt.
When you place a snap trap down, put the peanutbutter end( so the snap, snaps towards the wall) against the wall at a slight angle. I'd use a few
around the perimeter.
Also it would be a good idea to do some exclusion work as well.
Finding the hole or holes and plugging them with steelwool works best.
POISONS are NO GOOD, They will take it only if there is no other food source
and then they die in your wall and stink up the place for weeks.
Glue Boards are very inhumaine. I've seen mice chew their own legs off to get away. VICTOR SNAP TRAPS are what all the pros use.
Hope this helps.

I had mice all over the house when we moved in, get the traps with the big yellow flat bait holder, you can set how sensitive it will be, I used a ring of them around my plants and in the middle of the night you can hear 10 traps snap, if you hear that go reset them right away as mice don't care of they have to climb over their buddy to get to the food, or they may just eat thier buddy and that make a mess.
