I was trying to bend them for LST. but the MAIN branched snapped. it's not totally cut off but I did hear a loud snapping sound. Can I leave them at 90 degree angle now? Are they goners?

you can leave it just like it is.. that is just called supercropping and it will recover fairly quick.. i had to super crop my sour cream last grow and it did fine, although i just bent it and not snap it.. i still think that it will be fine though.. just leave it bent over and it will slowly turn back upwards towards the lights.. its actually kinda cool to watch..

If it's snapped at a 90 degree angle you will need to splint it. You can take a straw and cut it lengthwise then wrap it around the stem and tape on loosely. It will repair itself that way but if you leave it kinked no nutrients will flow to the top and it will die off.

like reel mentioned if it did snap completely you with have to tape and splint it back together...believe or not duct tape is great for repair broken stems...so use if needed

it didn't snap completely off but it did snap fully. like if i didn't have it leaning on top of a string it'd probably fold over itself from the weight.

if i just left it like this will it whither away and die?

i want to reduce height. do i have to split it up with tape/straw?

its happened hundreds of thousands of time to hundreds of thousands of people. just stake and tiie it back up and it will be perfectly fine. might take about a week or a little more and then it will start growing faster than ever.

iv broke mine and just put a splint on it and she heeled on her own. just make sure its strong enough to hold the top back up and she will be fine

Leave it bent over, the plant will react by forcing more nutrients to the upper part of the plant. This will be the best yeild you have gotten yet. A snap means you went a little too low, don't worry and I wouldn't splint it if I were you "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" especially true for marijuana. I did 1 grow breaking all the plants and yeilded 5oz. per plant in 45 days. I did another without breaking and only yeilded 3-3.5 oz. per plant. And the second grow didn't have as dense of buds as the first.

There's a difference, notice how he twists them before snapping. That prevents the stem from actually breaking to the point where it's unrepairable and leaves enough tissue intact to let nutes flow to the top. I wouldn't put my plants through so much stress. I assume yours snapped straight though so it's kinda like creasing a flexi straw and flow will be reduced dramatically. I am surprised if it didn't die off by now, did you splint it?

if i get in a car accident and am paralyzed how exactly would that make me stronger? lol. just cause something hurts you doesnt mean your gonna get stronger since you didnt die......

btw, i wasnt saying his plants stem will not get bigger as a result of this, just that the theory of what doesnt kill you makes you stronger being flawed.

yes i do this way were you broke it will heel and become strong there. it needs help standing now. i have done it and were she broke she notted up and got strong enough to hold her own self up. make no mistake it needs it. if you broke your leg would you need a splint? why wouldnt your baby need one to. I treat all my lady like there are human and they love me for it. buy giving me sweet buds. they are my babys. so yes do it and you will be happy.

i can tell you this 420 when i broke mine and it stapped but didnt come all the way of, i splinted it and she heel her self now were the break was she grew a ball if you will , it was fat and round right there and strong enough that later one in flower i took it off and she held her self up. true story
