She's looking damn good!

Why the Optic exactly? I might be a bit biased but I'd think some QB's would do better for you and possibly be a little cheaper too. I'm running 2 of the QB288 135w R-Spec boards on an HLG-320H-54A driver for 330w in my 3x3. Will actually go up to 375 at the wall but I don't need it. Currently pushing 80-90k lux at the canopy from ~16 inches away, like 1200 ppfd.
Iam thinking mainly to save ceiling space.. I have 3x54w 3500k cobs at the mo and a forth one on order so just want something A4-ish sort of size or smaller that doesnt get too warm...

The 54w cobs have proven how well they can veg...they say they are great in flower too..but i feel the newest optic is perfect in size fairly low wattage and would mean i could ditch the upper 2700k 30w cfls..further reducing heat and replacing with a better quality light output..

Granted it is expensive..but I wanna give it a go.. Plus it has the latest Samsung H tech.. Ill be interested to see what the total par and ppfd is ... I will eventally go with QBs..but am gonna wait until i get a 3 x 5 tent later down the line so i can justify getting a bigger light - FS/STELTY :leaf:

The stats for just the new Optic 1 Phantom XL dimmable look really good !? .. I dont know how to work out the combined output including the 4 other 54w 3500k optic one cobs.. ?. But I imagine the par and ppfd is gonna be quite high in a 3x3 rig consisting of a 54w cob in each corner and the phantom in the middle... - FS/STELTHY :leaf:

They look pretty good, and its nice and compact, but those ppfd numbers look pretty low to me, the 18" numbers for the Optic seem about the same numbers as a single 135w qb288 v2 at 24"..

They are really good, ..but.... it reccomends the 260w for a 3 x 3 tent.. and the smaller ones seem ok at 18 ins .. but the Phantom can flower a 2 x 2 with really good data at 18 ins .. and also includes far red a deeper blue, as well as Ir and uses less watts than the mid range QB...

I think the 260w QB and 4x 54w cobs would be over kill in a 3x3

..I like the broader spectrum the Phantom puts out despite its 2 x 2 optimum coverage in Flower.. But centered in a 3 x 3 a phantom covering the inner 2x2 and a cob in each corner covering the outer potential 2x2 complete with higher intencity reflecion of the Mylar (soon to be Orca) walls coverage and range of color spread should be excellent in a 3x3..?

.. not forgetting I also have UVa UVa-BP and UVb in there as well.. and the under canopy lighting (thats soon to be replaced with a 2000k cob flood light..

I just dont see the QB a viable option this time around...dont get me wrong great build quality and still impressive stats ...but not the best option imo for my current set up.. - FS/STELTHY :leaf:

ah yeah, I was just thinking light for light, looking only at the numbers, you'd do the single 135w instead of the optic as it by itself is putting out better numbers than the optic, and then keep the other cobs in the corner like you said. But I can see what you're saying, the single qb will likely have lower intensity on the edges since its really made for a 2x2 not 3x3. And yeah not recommending the 260w, that's more money and you'd likely need to lose some cobs which would worsen your spread. I really need to get two more rspec boards so i can have 100% even spread in my 3x3. So I think you're right, for your setup that phantom will likely be the best way to go, and it'll rock it

I would be less concerned with watts, and more concerned with the quality of light and the actually umol rating at different heights. Quality of light is super important, in my opinion.

From the white line of the upper screen\trellis.. How much is she gonna STRETCH ??? ...Shes been iv Veg 10 days shy of 5 months, Shes known for big buds "Critical" by Royal Queen seeds. Scrogged and trained t fill a 3x 3 whilst still in veg and reached the under side of the white line at the point of flipping to 12/12... Guesses ?????????? - FS\STELTHY :leaf:

Nice set up.
Be careful with the old lamps, the old wires inside are limited to a certain amperage, I would be cautious about adding anymore.
Cheers for the heads up ... I am contemplating using a flood light under there instead... I plan to make a periscope style enclosure that behaves like a cool tube..to tak away the heat but really penetrate the under side of th canopy.. FS/STELTHY:leaf:

If she's anything like my godberry she's gonna double in height. From what little research I did on RQS' Criticial, it looks like she generally does about that.

Oh..........From this point on call me STELTHY, I am gonna go by my former alliece?.. Its a really ball ache keep typing FS/ each time.. Sadly I can no long officially identify as STELTHY as I can no longer use that account..

I cant access it i have no idea of the email address linked to it as it was sabotaged when all my pics were lost from my STELTHY account..only view and add content like anyone else which is a shame... and I whisper to a moderator etc.. That I doubt I cant change my user name to STELTHY:leaf: (because technically the user name STELTHY still remains an ACTIV USER (me) even though I cant access my old account as STELTHY:leaf:...if that makes sense..?.. -FS/.......................... STELTHY:leaf: lol.. :wall::-P

So ... pretty much double the existing canopy..the fact the main stem is so hench.. That shouldn't effect the canopy growth too much. ? .its more a case of doubling the foliage thats currently up top ? :.. - STELTHY:leaf:

i mean.. I mainlined my girl too and she was 14" from pot to top of canopy when I flipped to 12/12.. she's now around 28" from pot to top of canopy and she did that inside of 3 weeks.

This was day 50 of veg for me, night before 12/12 flip. ~14" tall with 8 mains.

This was same plant on day 18 of flower, 18 days later, ~24" tall

Then after some defoliation, day 28, ~28" tall

Thats cool.. In that case fingers crossed i should be ok..? - STELTHY :leaf:
how high can you raise the lights? if you have over the double the height left to be able to raise your lights you should be fine. Worst comes to worst you can always supercrop, or worst case monstercrop, the tall branches to keep em shorter.
