Frozen fresh BHO extraction

I just made some bho out of fresh frozen trimmings of super lemon haze. I feel like the taste is was better than last time I made it out of dry super lemon haze trimmings. I don't know if the yeild was affected as I only got ~1.2g from 1 ounce of trimmings.

Yield is diminished, column capacity is filled with water. The extra terpenes may or may not be worth the added efforts and extra solvent required.

I may try it with fresh frozen bud, the taste is amazing. If it only takes more butane to strip the bud, then I think it's worth it..

Its not a big deal on small scales, just when you need to run several pounds, increasing the tube count by 3 to 4 is a lot more work. Getting a good grind on the fresh material is harder. It very easy to over pack the column causing excessive channeling.

A very good point, grinding would be insane. If I froze the bud before the grind?

Fresh frozen produces a delightful extract, and the total yield is about the same, you just have to process more material to get it, because as SP noted, you are comparing semi descicated material weights to material full of water. If you adjust for that, most of the difference goes away.
