From seed under 400w duel spectrum

Right this is the idea I have in my head and ill stick it in order. Can someone tell me if this will be ok? Still new to this you see.

Buy feminized seeds (not sure what yet)

Germinate (paper towel method best?)

Stick under a 400w grolux duel spectrum from seed at distance (my undertsanding is they can grow from seed under the sun which is billions of times more powerfull, so why not a 400w as long as the temp is ok?)

What do I feed this seed, and when do I start feeding it? (ive used Vita Link products in my first grow but that was a clone, not a seed)

I stand to be corrected on all of this but in theory would this be ok?

Also considering autoflower due to time. Any recomendations of anything that compares to cheese?

It's not a good idea to grow if time is an issue. I'm not sold on autoflowering strains. You might as well get something that you want to smoke, and yeah, feminized seeds are fine(use them myself). Growing from seed at 12/12 will shave some time off the grow, but somewhat diminish your yield. Germinating isn't hard, check the GrowFAQ for that and a lot of other essential knowledge. Nothing wrong with using a 400W light either. It's overkill for seedlings, but whatever, I'm using a 600 right now. If you use decent soil you won't have to use any nutrients for the first month.

Not used soil before. Only know NFT, that a problem? Soil easier? I have a 1x1x2 metre tent that and was just about to lay out for a bigger DIY NFT setup.

So a few pots and a tray the best method?

If you're comfortable with NFT, no need to mess with success. I'm not all that familiar with it myself, I use ebb & flow.

Ok so I have another theory id like your opinion on please.

From seed to root riot (small cube) planted into 6" rockwool main cube under the 400HPS. Sprayed with plant start regulary to keep moist, when the roots grow enough, turn on the pump and start the NFT?

Im basically propogating the thing where it will be all its life, it works in the open.

What I do is use a propagation tray for the first two weeks, it takes about that long to develop a healthy root system. When my plugs have lots of roots, they're ready for transplant and I flip on the hydro system, which feeds every 8 hours. I don't use any nutrients for the first two weeks either, and no more than 300 PPM for week 3. While you're hand watering, you don't necesarily want to keep the root plugs moist. You want them to dry out a bit(emphasis on bit) so the roots can elongate and search for water. Keeping the roots saturated all the time will suffocate them.

I can get a propagator, unheated quite cheap here. Its going to be in the tent so will unheated be ok? Sorry if im asking again but I stick the seeds in the root riot dry or water moist?

You need to germinate the seeds before putting them in the plugs. There's a page in the faq you should check out:
https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq&cmd=article&id=602
I do things a little different. I drop my seeds in a glass of water for at least 12 hours, or until they sink to the bottom. From there I put them in between a piece of cloth(cut up old t-shirt) and saturate it, but not sopping wet. I take that cloth and put it a a sealed ziplock bag and check on it the next day. You know they're ready when the taproot grows to about 1/2 inch. You then place the cracked beans in the plugs about 1/4" root facing down and cover the hole loosely with a piece of the plug torn off the corner. They should sprout in a day or two.

Right then, ill germinate as it says in your link, sticking them on top of the cable box as it is warm there.

When they pop ill place them in the small root riot cube and then ill place that into the big rockwool cube where it will live. I got a tip off here to put a clear plastic cup over each one acting as a propagator and keeping my 400w HPS at max height till i grows leaves. That going to be ok?

Thanks for the advice. I should be up and running in a day or 2, no doubt ill be back for more knowledge. Im going to stick the 400w HPS 3.5ft away to start, that shouldnt roast the sprout should it?

Probably not, but it's up to you to stay on top of the temperature. If it gets hotter than 85 in there you have a problem. You can probably get away with putting the light about 18" away, but again, only if heat isn't a problem. Always place your hand near the top of your plants and check for heat. If it's too hot for your hand, you can bet it's too hot for your babies. After the first week or two you want to get the light as close as you can without burning.

Due to it being a tent and easily accessible I can open the one side completly if it gets too hot. I didnt have an internal fan last time and kept it closed and the lower branches had mould. Plenty of air this time.

I have a small clip fan in my tent blowing light on the seedlings so they move around a bit, that way the stems will be nice and thick and won't droop over when fat buds start forming. Good luck to you in the meantime.

I have ordered a 6" clip on. My first grow was a butcher job. I was without a PH meter for a few weeks due to 2 breaking so had to use a liquid testing kit, no CF meter, moved house which stressed the plant. Now got everything, today I spent about £170. Gonna diamond mylar the inside of the tent too.

First grow was an experiment, this one is the serious one. Got 5 feminized Greenhouse Cheese for it and got a free Haze seed, do I stick the haze in too?

I generally like to stick to one strain per grow, but there's no reason why you can't go for it. Be sure you know what the approximate flowering times are for each strain, as they may be different.
