You're going to need a decent sized room for six healthy plants. Get an MH for veg and HPS for budding. To save money, just get the High Pressure Sodium and use it for both. You'll need a fan to exhaust heat. Get that and you should be good to go. Check Craigslist, ebay, local growshops, etc.

For future reference, do your HW on the forum. Get a little knowledge so you can speak the same language as everyone. All the info's here, but don't rely on people to spoon feed the info. If you have strong general knowledge the people on this forum kick ass at answering your specific questions.

well.. the temperature of the germination does not matter to much.. just try to keep it around 70-80 at most. room temperature is ussually fine. and for cheapest possible.. you can get away with using flouros and you can buy individual flouro bulbs at a pet shop or walmart or something for around 5 bucks each.. but these are only good for the fisrt 3-4 weeks or so. ...you can get away with using them for the budding period but the buds with be fluffy because the lights arent very strong. i suppose you could buy a bunch of them and put like 6 per plant but if you are going to do that you might as well just buy a HPS. you wont need a fan with flouros either... they put off hardly any heat depending on the size of the box. i use flouros for seedlings in a 16x16x16 inch box and it is around 78 degrees without a fan.

A fan is important. They promote strong stems and also discourage mold. Get a fan even if you plan on going with floro's.
Get a HPS like was said they will pay for it's self buy the time you invest in floro's and sockets for evey bulb. The yeild alone will make the biggest differnce with what light you choose to go with. When it comes to lighting I believe can make a crop or break it. Go with an HID MH or HPS they both could get your crop all the way through from veg to flower. MH are great for fast growth even during flowering but your plants will love you back if you give them HPS lighting during flowering with a bigger yeild than with a MH. MH systems will encourage your plants to finish in a faster time frame where HPS will take longer but the yeild will be around 20 to 50 percent more.

if youre really tryin to save money. veg with compact fluorescents. they save electricity like a bitch. the best way to do SOG is to grow a mother plant first and take clones. the clones can immediately be flowered.

SOG - One crop can be started while another is maturing, and a continuous harvest, year round can be maintained. 4 plants per square foot will be a good start for seedlings. 1 plant per square foot will allow plenty of room for each plant to grow a large top cola, but will not allow for much bottom branching. This is OK since indoors, these bottom branches are always shaded anyway, and will not grow very well unless given additional light and space.
