Freezing dilemma

Hi all

Lent my tubes til next week but i wanna do a cheeky extraction and let it sit for new years. Ive only got a tube that can load 30g at most. That tube is already in the fridge but the trim i have is kinda shit so i wanna do it twice. WOuld you freeze the leaf in a separate plastic zip lock bag and then fill tube after its emptied from first blast? Or just freeze it inside the tube again? Just trying to save time.

thanks

To be honest I'd say yes. Shit, ice cubes freeze in less time right? Pre freezing the second lot wouldn't hurt, but I'd still toss the packed tube in for a few hours since the material would likely warm during handling.

I've done excellent runs with 4 hours at -20f deep freeze
Lol i had to check twice, that is hardcore man, -28C is what i had a couple of times in norway, when you pee its like youre pissing steam for reason and pee freezes in about 2 seconds upon hitting floor lol.
My fridge freezer doesnt go that low i imagine maybe 10f a little lower but i doubt it!

Best to pack the tube before freezing, so that the trichomes don't get coated with ice from atmospheric moisture.

I usually freeze my tubes overnight in a -4C freezer.

For frozen extractions, we usually soak the butane storage tank in denatured alcohol and dry ice to get the butane around -10/30C.

@Fadedawg your reasoning makes sense.

So i tried one tube for 6 hours in my normal freezer and let the other one 12 hours, 12 hours was colder to the touch which makes me think not fully frozen with only 6 hours.
