Except that he didn't do it.

You're being willingly fooled by the same people who brought you Iraqi WMD, the Gulf of Tonkin and many, many more.

You're a useful idiot for billionaires, nothing more.
Yes he did do it. Plenty of evidence including living wounded and witnesses.

Who gassed the Syrians?

It wasn't the gas fairy. Assad would do anyfuckingthing to retain his lifestyle and power. He's a pig ffs.

Who would defend Assad besides Putin?

Vietnam should be on that list and Afganastane.
I don't know why you keep citing history.

I don't defend what the State of Israel is doing to Palestinians.
I don't defend what the US did in Vietnam/
I don't defend what the US is doing with drones and special troops to do harm to civilians in Afghanistan or in Yemen and never have
I don't defend the US invasion of Iraq and never have.
I have attended protests against the various wars we've been in since 2000.
My vote does go to people I think will not do those things.
I accept that as a US citizen I share some of the blame for this happening.

I keep asking. Who is Scott Perry and why should I care about his opinion? You or tty could have written that missive. At least I could then ask you what you meant. Most importantly, rather than riffing an opinion, I could ask you what do you suggest would end the Israel and Palestinian conflict in a way that both would accept?

The Syrians who have been bombed into the stone age by Assad have asked why are we so upset about the chemical weapons when the conventional bombings of civilians have been worse and are also war crimes.

@ttystikk are you also saying that Assad hasn't been bombing civilians in violation of international laws?

The issue I personally see is that it makes no sense to use chemical weapons if you're winning "handsomely" already, especially with a huge arsenal of Russian made conventional weapons to do the job better than chlorine gas would.

Rationally I know it was probably Assad being not-smart, but using chemical weapons and invoking the ire of the rest of the world seems like far more of a threat to his position than the rebels ever were.

Again, I know it was probably Assad, but something stinks about it, it makes no logical sense for him to do it.

Easy. America supports Palestine for a change. It says it was a mistake to give other peoples land away. Its says the borders go back to what the "Free" countries originally agreed with or it will put all its military and economical might to make it so.

Palestine I think would be happy with that compromise. Israel gets to keep what was stolen from others. win/win

Even a win for America, for once you would be the good guys in the Arab world.

My sense of it is the US should start treating Israel like a country with a dubious if not criminal history of aggressive behavior not unlike Russia. We should end special treatment for Israel including selling arms until it stops its aggression against Palestinians and engages in meaningful peace talks.

Palestinians aren't exactly doves here either and so I agree that Israel has the right to defend itself as well as engage in peace talks with a "show me" attitude.

I can see how the US could act as a shield for Palestinians by threatening Israel with sanctions or missile strikes if they break the peace with Palestinians in an unprovoked or asymmetrical act of war. Missiles for Palestinian rock throwing for example should be actions that the US condemns..

Where I cannot go is this bit where Assad and Putin have clean hands in Syria. I think the US should come down hard on Russia in terms of sanctions that really bite for supporting Assad's bombing of civilians and chemical weapons attacks.

We should also talk about sending GW Bush off to Geneva for war crimes trials along with Netanyahu, Assad and Putin.

OK, so that last line is pie in the sky but if I were king of the world that's what I'd make happen.

You're thinking like an American.

Assad and Putin are 180° opposite. I can't imagine how they think but life obviously isn't valued. They routinely kill and assassinate their own citizens. It's not a jump to think they use gas.

Somebody did.

Thanks for taking a rationally skeptical view on this.

There were people evacuated from Duma with lung injuries consistent with chlorine gas poisoning. Also many witnesses of the event who said the gas was dropped by planes during an Assad air strike.

I'm not questioning one bit whether or not chlorine gas poisoned some people in Duma on the night of the air raid. As you say, it's nuts for Assad to do it but consistent with everything else he's done. I can agree with your doubt.

The effect of the gas attack was Duma folded a few days later. Maybe it was not such a crazy thing for Assad to do after all.

Notice how every thread is all about pedophilia as soon as he starts posting. As if anyone will ever read that complete histrionic meltdown...
he's a pizzagater. he thinks the FBI never went after sex traffickers like trump until trump got into office.

he also defends pedophiles like roy moore though, so we know his belief in the pizzagate conspiracy is not based in actual concern against pedophiles, but rather is just his infowars retardation shining through

we disagree politically on most everything
Actually, if you consider the means you would both employ to reach your "political goals", you are exactly alike.

You only differ in the identity of who you want to run others lives with a few variances on how you'd spend the stolen money.

Plus ttystikk seems to be able to grow some decent weed.
