limits in california vary depending on your county. Up north limits, berkly and oakland area's are 72 plants. Down here in SB county its 6 plant limit. Most countys leave it at the 6 flowing, 6 veg. 2 lbs, 24 plants is all we can have in SD. In SB its 8 ounces. So it varies. Not that 6 plants doesn't grow a lot of weed. Just not enough to give away. Half stays in the jar as personal smoke, while the other is sold off.
There are actually no more plant limits. It has been like that for a few months. Look on norml. The limits weren t voted on so they don't count.

But don't ya think your theory encapsulates the minority. I'd imagine the vast majority of the folks here might grow their stash, and sell off the excess to cover their expenses. So a stash grow might cost 3 bills, or 21 grams . . . but shoot! With my X stash of all the best, look at all this leftover popcorn, etc . . . guess I'll help out a close friend and sell it to him/her at 100% profit.

Yeah its like grow, then pay bills for growing, then have enough till the next harvest. It really isn't that much but if you do have some leftover to share, good for you. The adverage person isn't really making out that well. Its a lot of time and money to grow.

true.... but not at the same time... the sun is free.... and if you do it right... growing indoors isn't too expensive..... space determines amount more than anything I have noticed....

if you do it right.... maybe you should have shopped around... I got a $150 fan for free... a 1000w HPS fixture bulb and ballast for $60.... and get a cool deal on electricity without stealing it....

i have read this whole post and still can not figure it out. I mean it sounds great but there are co-ops out there for patients that need low costs meds. I guess maybe an outdoor organic community garden project might work. That would be pretty cheap and everybody could share in a huge harvest from some big outdoor plants. Indoors this is just not very feasible, somebody has to absorb the cost it gets expensive to maintain not to mention set-up a profitable indoor grow room.

how many harvests will you get out of your set up investment?.... like I said, maybe expensive the first go around, but after that I know expenses drop dramatically...

why cant you just give a close friend ? I dont mind sharing with friends, but donating my crop to people I dont even know.. Never ever ever
My real friends probably don't smoke. That's how close we are. I've heard from two and I found them via the net. They didn't look for me. Now that you mention it, I did take care of one of them, living in Ca. w/MS but afraid his job might not agree with any inquiry into MMJ. When you're pushin' 60 I guess that kinda thing is scary. In fact, his situation encouraged my last grow.

The friends I refer to don't come around and MaMa and I kinda like being left alone, and the silly (stupid) dog won't let anyone in without a major MAJOR hassle.
Giving it to them would only encourage their stopping by and causing stress.
I guess they're just fair weathered friends . . . but I am growing the best in the valley and only charging what the regs go for. All in all, they know I'm sharing the best w/them and there's very little to be had.
It's a priviledge, or I'd feel priviledged.

Thats the best I could do with $250.
So your saying we should all donate are meds for free? After we sell our harvest's to cope with the set up costs? And were do the funds for that come from? Ifs its all free, how? Donations sure wont cover my electricity bill. The day marijuana is legalized is the day I start donating.

Well initial cost is very high yes and costs do drop on a well run grow op but if you are trying to run a business giving away your product is just not feasible. Back east I was paying hundreds of dollars for electricity alone then there was: nutrients, bulb replacement, equipment failure, "accounting fees", security costs, not to mention the fact that I had to be prepared to stop my grow and pick up and move at any time. I really was not interested in having people come check my plants and equipment. I can check my equipment just fine thank you. Maybe you should look into and outdoor garden project where people come together and help tend to some outdoor plants, help harvest, ect.

Even If it were an OD crop, that would make it harder with only one season. I wouldnt donate my plant limit, but I would donate time and knowledge.

All you look at is the negative. Please don't post on this thread anymore bleezy. That $250 set up can put out way more than $250 and electricity in its first harvest. Shouldn't really be your worry where the funds come from, as long as they keep coming. Because a good portion of the funds will come from gov funded grants, and other grants, so in other words, the tax payers. Won't pay your entire electricity bill either, just a portion (thats why its called a Reimbursement, duh, not all your electricity is used to grow herb).
I don't see why your complaining.... you haven't given away anything to this program accept selfish negative feedback.

Sorry buddie did I say my electric bill is $254?, I wont post after this. Like I said, its just over $100 to run my equipment. It is negative when you sacrifice your plant limits, your money and your time just to give most of it away? I wish life was that simple and easy. Where you could just give everything away. Time is precious. Theres a market for weed, and until its legal there always will. People can grow legally just like us , so why give it away when they can do it themselves? The only way to get prices down is for it to be legalized for all. Then there wont be any market.

Im talking about multiple growers in multiple locations, with all different kinds of set ups... and outdoor has multiple seasons by the way, not just one... thats why Humboldt pulls two harvests a year. Your not expected to donate your limit! Just whatever you can, or don't mind....

There you go then a community garden project in Humbolt would be perfect. :peace:
