I think that's a universal feature of the landing phase of all winged machines.
The glider club where I earned my solo and license ... the chief instructor was hard core. He started a lecture (with slides) with a pic of the Wright Flyer and simply said "In 1903 Wilbur and Orville invented the towplane." Good memories. cn
