So I get some free autos from attitude. never planted these before and never have wanted to either for that matter but since theyre free I thought Id give it a go. anyone have any advice for me? Im planning on not amending this soil much and just buying some bottled nutes because my usualy soil mix may be a little too heavy for them. I read I should plant them in the container they'll mature in...but that will be the ground. anyone have any experience with this?

I never will buy Autos but I'll grow them and have before. The good thing about autos are-you can veg your important plants and not worry about your auto getting to much light cuz it's gonna flower no matter what. I grew a FRUIT auto and was impressed

I'm in the same boat as you. I've never grown any autoflowering strains before but decided to purchase some Fast and Vast auto's and got some NL x Big Bud auto's as freebies. I'm also doing my photo plants but wanted to give the auto's a try in hopes of an early harvest to hold me over until Sept-Oct for my regular harvest.
I germed my autos and stuck them in 3 gallon pots (I lined them with newspaper but poked holes in it where the pots drain holes are). That's how I do it with my tomato plants for my veggie garden every year. I just used my normal soil mixture which is screened native soil, high quality topsoil with perlite, compost/ composted manure, a little sand for added drainage and peat. Since they just germed I don't have any other info for you yet but I plan on transplanting like normal hoping that I can just lift them out easily with the newspaper and slide them gently into their holes without stressing them too much.
I've been keeping an eye on the forecast and it looks like rain for the next couple weeks where I'm at. (about 39N) Looks like I'm going to have to veg them indoors longer than I expected.
Good luck on your grow this year!

I have just grown autos for the first time myself, they are 6 weeks into 12/12 (indoors). Growing them with photos, and doing some breeding. I wouldn't worry about transplanting them one time. Mine did just fine. I would start them in a solo cup and let them get an established root system over about 2-2 1/2 weeks or so and then transplant them into their final pot/the ground (with as little stress as you can manage) they should do fine. If you are really worried about stressing them just punch some large holes in the solo cup and plant the solo cup into the final pot / the ground, the roots will grow through the holes you make with zero stress and it will do fine. I did this with some of the late autos to germ and they have done great. Good luck.

I've cut the bottom off the solo cup before and have done it successfully on several indoor cycles. But it seems they grow better and more vigorously with no root restriction. Thanks for the input though guys. I'm kind of excited to get a harvest so early. 3 months from seed to harvest seems too good to be true!
