After reading the Wiki page for Equatorial Guinea, I want to say thank you to anybody who had any hand whatever in ensuring that I don't live there.

There, Buck. There is my simple thank you, and it is heartfelt.
now why don't black people just do the same?

jeez.

Gosh, Buck, I don't know. I don't speak for black people like you do. Where is this enclave of black slaves you keep talking about?

According to Ancestry.com I have a black ancestor, so I am offering my heartfelt thanks that I wasn't born in any African country.

Maybe you ought to offer thanks to your grandparents that you weren't born in Russia or Poland?

oh, nevermind, then you can't be racist. my bad.
No problem, Buck. You, on the other hand are a white devil and obviously as racist as any who ever drew breath.

Since you speak for all black people in the US, what do they say? Are they happy they weren't born in the most prosperous African country, Equatorial Guinea, or do they desperately wish they were?

you're confusing the act of speaking against racists like you with speaking for the black people you degrade.

i'll tell them at our next meeting though that you'd really like a simple 'thank you' for the altruistic manner in which you benevolently brought them to the land of prosperity.

I had a black college professor once who kept going on about reparations for slavery. I said I thought it would be a good idea; replenish the wealth that was taken from stolen southerners who owned slaves, and to tax present day blacks for the costs of the trans-Atlantic journey. She didn't think it was nearly as funny as me, and the rest of the class did. Slavery in the western hemisphere was the best thing that ever happened to black folks. Im pretty sure the standard of living for blacks in the western hemisphere, even in Hati, is higher than in most parts of sub-Saharan Africa. The only blacks that didn't benefit from the slave trade were the ones who didn't get to come over.
