Fox Farms Ocean Forest LOW pH out of the bag!!

I'm so hooked on ocean forest I just threw out my 3rd F up grow all 3 soon as I put the seedlings in o.f. I never had this problem in 5 years using it! Usally my troubles are down the road. All the bags had a date of 5-10 on top of the bag! The ph out of the bag with a slurpee test or run off was 5.5 or 5.7 if plants look F up and run off is low you have ph problems it mean everything Cuz it right I'm threw with o.f.!! Going to get sunshine mix 4 and use my FF Nuts heard it was great just go by ppm and not so much by the chart and tps and tbls I posted a thread about my last grow no reponeses I going to let the SUNSHINE!!! My local grow shop said my brown spots are from being BURNED
Its must be hotter than last year's batch!!!
Cuz I grow 4 or 5 time before with no problems!!!
I forgot to ask why the run off was low?

I'm having this same issue. my run off is reading 5.0, and i know nothing has ever entered my soil below 6.0, but my plants are doing great. Like absolutely perfect.


What should I do here?

I haven't checked run-off ever since ive been growing. I grow in FFOF soil and add nutes when plants show they need them. and always ph my air stone bubbled water to 6.5 every time. I add 1 cup of powdered dolomite lime per 1.5cu' bag of FFOF, and some great white mycorahzae(sp) to the mix, and 1/2 bag of perlite.

the ph issue is due to the oyster shells that are used as a buffer dissipating too quickly. like said on bottom page 2 consider adding lime next time.
also problems with ffof is they grew so quickly that they outsource a lot of their ingredients. I like ffof but i always liked the happy frog a little more.
try one plant with a little added lime

maybe the heat combined with so many waterings is washing away the oyster shell buffer. try planting them in the ground with this mix? (id still add lime, Maybe a little teeny bit of epsom salts at the bottom of the soil)

i wonder if these bags sitting out in the environment before being sold, leached out nutrients, is what causes the shells to disapear r whatever else might be causing it.

Ive never really had an issue with it till now. I live on the east coast and half my seedling looked pretty sad for a few weeks. One took over a month till it grew a leaf that wasnt tiny or toasted. I use collected rain water and hadn't used any nutes yet.Made me think it was the soil or the water i collected.

same problem as well from FFOF.. my plant seem alot happier when i add 3/4 cap full of ph up, to 7.0 ph water in a 2-liter bottle. i'm thinking of doing a whole cap dose next time . this works best for soil if you use ph up in between feeding's for me and this strain.
