Fox Farms Big Bloom

just had a question. i have a seedling in espoma soilless mix, its about the same as pro mix, the only difference is it has peat humus in it which i read has virtually no nutrients. when can i start using big bloom? i am a little leary about using it on a seedling, 7 days old, but the feeding chart says at 1 week. any insight?

I follow the chart @ 1/4 strength and work my way up to full strength . In the process of raising if I notice my ladies are over fed I back off.

seedlings do not need feeding, wait until two weeks at least. Why are you using a blooming nute during veg anyway? You want a nute that is balanced in NPK but a little higher on the nitrogen side.

big bloom is not a flowering nute is a microbrew of sorts. almost the same as compost tea but more p and k which by the way helps build stronger root systems. that is why you use it on seedlings and small plants. as you said, in the first two weeks you normally wouldnt feed because the plant is developing a root system. im trying to follow a program and the reason this product is included so early is because it is supposed to aid in root development while adding micronutrients,vitimans, growth hormones and soil microbes.

Big bloom is more for flowering dude. if u want to develop strong roots use kelp and a fertilizer with higher N

Brandon should listen to farmerjoe or read the fox farms website. Big bloom is not "more" for flowering and should be used in both veg and flowering according to fox farms and many others on this site. Granted the name is misleading.

Tiger Bloom = NOT ORGANIC

Big Bloom has low NPK anyways, it probably is safe for seedlings after a week and a half or so, but too insufficient in nitrogen to be used on its own. Fish fertilizers/emulsions are usually forgiving as well.
