I like the FF geargear, hands down easy to use and 145 for all the nutes with flush...Can not say that about advance

Would you be interested in 50Lbs. of medium/nutes for around $35 with better results?. Organic base medium can be had for 3 bucks/bag, mushroom compost for about the same, perlite for the same, worm castings for NOT the same...but it's still more bang for the buck. Then add a bit of:

Only when necessary, I only use on in-grounds.

My confession: I fell for the FF nutes trap untill I realized it was a fucking plant same as the ones in my garden and their are WAY better products out their found at local nurserys and surprisingly what people don't know is that marijuana can be grown with any form of fertilizer used correctly you don't need a marijuana specific nute.

the idea of a $20 bag of FF soil is a joke, go to a nursury and get some fucking good organic soil
the idea of a flushing agent is a joke, really? really? your going to buy a btle of shit to dump in your soil to rinse out shit...

Sorry sunbiz for my rant, I loved how you came straight out the gate swingin at FF and it inspired me to write my 2,,,(where the fuck is the cents sign...)

so is this about if they work?,or how much they cost?
I think it's about whether they're WORTH what they cost.

I'm totally with you on the hype. ;-)

That said, many people are checking their pH by testing their runoff. That's not a very accurate way to measure pH, in fact I've used a VERY expensive soil pH tester and measured the runoff of the exact same soil with a VERY expensive digital meter (laboratory grade) and the pH of the runoff is almost always 2 points lower.:o
No doubt, and I always make sure they test the SOIL not runoff. I even have a tutorial in my journals I refer them to.

Most growers cannot come close to what you make, but they can do a few simple things to avoid problems.

1. Less is always better(and of course I'm speaking to all). These are weeds, not orchids.
2. Less expensive organic base soil mixes are readily available.
3. Less expensive amendments can be added with better results.

This isn't rocket science. There is a local FF sales rep that calls on gardening centers here, I do my best to keep them out b/c their shelves are already full of worm casings and mainly Epsoma products I don't want replaced.
This has always been my position on the nutes in a bottle like Dutch Master and Advanced Nutes. If they are so damn good, why don't more mainstream garden centers carry them?

And you just can't beat Espoma!!!! Great call. You know they have soils now, right?

Advanced is the one really ripping people off. they must have 20 diffrent nutes, to be honest i rather flush with a flush agent then use nutes to flush, but that is just me. I had no problem doing a grow, using the FF feeding chart

or you just find out what makes a plant tick?

The money. The question is why pay so much for the same results? If I get equal results from a soil for half that price, why give Foxfarm inc. twice as much (for the same results). Put the money you save on soil toward the nutes you inevitably buy anyway, plus you don't burn your plants. Win Win! lol

Rant?, nah.

You stated your own experiences from what I am gathering. I have 5 plants here doing quite well in early veg state. In fact I haven't done much variation on my medium in almost a year. I keep wanting to improve, yet have found nothing better. It simply is not necessary to spend a ton, yet so many here do and are disappointed with the results.

Yes they work, but their is better for the money. I am not here to swing anyone either way I just wanted to voice my opinion about my personal experience, Im sure theirs many others who feel opposite of my views such as yourself.

yes I have found out what makes my plants tick in my setup. and FF doesn't help them tick. What works for me certanly won't work for others... and what you do certainly won't work for everyone either.

Im using FFOF as described in SubCools Super Soil Recipe, works great for me!! Ive had nothing but good results from it.

Seedlings and clones go into 100 percent light warrior.
transplant to 50/50 FFOF/FFLW
Transplant to 100 percent Super Soil
done!

as I said Great results thus far!

are you sure the SUN,did not lend a hand in fdd grow?

i would ike to see a grow with just ff soil, and your own mix, from clone, and see just how long they go,befor needing nutes.that would be nice.
its always better to make your own medium,if you do it right.

you feel i oppose your view, just by me asking a question?

I'll add that I do agree that making your own is cheaper and better when done right. I used the FF with the recipe because of ease of use. Payed for the convenience I suppose.. after I have used up this batch of SuperSoil I will making my own soils for sure. I do like what the FF is doing for me now though.

c'mon man, lets not make this personal.

ok First off I assumed you did this is my fault, I apologize.

it's just with what appeared to be a condencending question towards my knowledge of plants and nutrients makes it seem you didn't agree. I simply was voicing my opinion from my experience, the question of "or did you figure out how plants tick" is kind of unnecessary to positive conversation and irelavant in the discussion.

I don't know about all THAT, by the time I add in my Compost, EWC, Bio Char, and Bunny Poo, It's probably a bit more, but I have a FAR superior product, and it's a KNOWN factor. No variables. Plus I'm certain it's all organic. I pay $13 for a 2.8 cu/ft bag for soil, $9 a 25lb bag for the EWC, and I use 3 of each of them every grow.
