I am using FF ocean soil. things are growing well with out veg nutes since they are only vegging for 2 weeks before switching. my question is can you use FF big bloom only for your flowering nutes and get good results?

is there anyone out there that vegs in just soil and then using just BB to flower?
thanks

Why are you only gonna veg out your plants for 2 weeks?? I dont mean to sound rude or anything??

as soon as clones show roots I put them in a dixi cup for 2 weeks then transplant them into 3 gallon pots and take them from the clone chamber. then I place them in the veg room for 2 weeks under a small hid and to harden them off before the flower room. I have vegged plants for 2 weeks - 2 months and for the space i have and results i get with FF soil i dont see the need for a veg nute. Im looking for a good 1 part nute that i can use during flowering only?

Most people veg for two weeks. Big Bloom isn't a bloom fertilizer base. It's a catalyst among many other things. That's why in the feeding chart, plant start using it as seeds. Get "Tiger Bloom" (bloom base) and don't bother with grow big. You already bought "Big Bloom" and the fox farm soil and already decided to veg shortly. It could still take weeks for the plant to go into flower after you make the light cycle switch to trigger it. But continue using the bloom base fertilizer, that will stimulate blooming.

So use Big Bloom as your veg and for your seedlings. its very mild, so it wont really burn your plants up. Once you begin flowering start using some Tiger Bloom.

If you won't want to buy tiger bloom, the bloom base, try the water solubles. Cha ching isn't that popular, then again its opinion and some people seem to like it as well. Since your in soil, beastie blooms should be sweet in your grow. It lacks nitrogen so during mid flowering your plant can use up what it has store up. Then cha ching has nitrogen and makes you feed your plant nitrogen at the very end. Maybe it all works out perfectly together, I'm just testing out open sesame right now.

But point i'm trying to make is that Big Bloom is falsely leading people to think it's a bloom base fertilizer and it isn't. Here is the feeding chart they provide: Notice before you even start using your Grow Base, they recommend using Big Bloom on your delicate seedlings. Shows how gentle that nutrient really is and they call it a blossom builder.... People should complain about it being called big bloom.

Edit Edit: dont think last URL worked.
pretty sure that last link doesnt work: http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/feedingfox.html

One part bloom fertilizers are better if they are made for the two different stages of forming flowers and ripening. I'd probably want to try the solubles if I were you.

Um no i have not got any fox farm nutes i have general 3 part and I have put 2 of the same plants next to each other and the one with just soil seems to be pretty damn close with out all the cost of nutes. so my question is I am not using any veg nutes or any nutes during veg So what are some nutes that i can use only during flowering?
Are you saying just start using tiger bloom only during flowering ?

Lol, yeah. Thank god you didn't buy Big Bloom thinking it was the One Part Bloom Base.

Tiger Bloom is a good one part bloom base. You can either begin using it at the first sign of flowering or when you decide to change the light schedule. It's up to you.

Either just get a bottle of tiger bloom only during flowering.
OR buy the Solubles and use ONE at a time during flowering. They are one parts, just have different specific times during flower that they help.

I'd recommend getting Tigerbloom and the two/one of the solubles and use them as additives if you wanted to get complicated. But you want to keep it simple. most one part bloom fertilizers are just like Tiger bloom, low N, highest in P, moderate K..

its just a variable. Some cannabis plants, like sativa, are used to tropical climates that get 12/12 most of the year and can veg under 12/12. Pure tropical sativa like something close to 11/13 to flower. So all these hybrids out there carry these funky traits and maybe it's not the exact reason why, but not all plants begin producing flowers the week the light shifts from 18/6 to 12/12... Some people freak out, but its no big deal. Some plants will take as long as 21 days/ three weeks to respond to a change in the photoperiod.

Most plants will produce flower pistols in that first week. Some people like to start feeding bloom nutrients to promote that to be sure things stay on top of schedule and dont feel like waiting another week for buds to start forming. Some people have nutrients that recommend this period be known as the TRANSITIONAL period. And nutrient solutions should be half bloom base and half grow based during this period according to some manufacturers

Hey Roll, he means that some plants can take up to 3-4weeks to show flowering no matter what, Thats why he said u can wait till you see signs of flowering or start using Tiger Bloom when u switch ur lights...

I have a friend that uses it. He's an idiot, so i've been nothing but un-impressed with it. GH however, is a really good nutrient company and I had amazing results with their three part. So I'm just going to assume that is just from user error, and not trash something I never actually used.

RIU members use everything under the sun and some stuff that isn't even from this world.

Pure Blend Pro is popular as an organic based one part bloom fert.

Biothrive Bloom is actually pretty good. It's super generic with a 2-4-4 ratio. But it does lack cal mag.

I was at the hydro store today and talked to this guy for awhile. He said alot of customers say good things about GH. Also I was looking at Mother Earth's 2 part organic tea for grow and bloom. Has anyone heard about this product from AN? Thanks jethead

GH is amazing and their customer service is unlike any other companies in the business... however AN is something I refuse to even try because of their marketing campaigns bashing GH. Picturing a bull drinking a bottle of AN and pissing out a bottle of GH....

I have to admit it is apretty funny picture. I agree, Iv'e only tried the 2 part Connisuer A&B with pretty good results but I like to try different products until 1 or 2 show a noticeable difference . I would like to try a 2 part organic grow and bloom formula.

Im using Fox Farm (hydro nutes) for everything but im doing a DWC. and i was told by a member to use Overdrive Nut when i switch to flowering, i looked it up, its used to fatten up ur Nug's and it helps to fix anything that u might of messed up in the earlyer stages of growing, Not sure if im going to get it or not, but if i dont im gonna JUST USE FF Tiger Bloom for my whole Flowering stage, im not sure if they make it for soil you would have to look it....

Im new to growing like you, Trust me just read about everything and anything on RIU and you will learn alot!! I learn something new every day on here!! Good Luck....&..... Stay High.....
