Hey first grow.
Little bit of background
4x4 tent
2x 250 watt LED
Temp is 76-80 lights on
69-72 lights off
Humiditiy is 50 % controlled by a humidifier
Soil is fox farm ocean forest in 5 gallon fabric pots.
I'm using tap water that is 197 ppm and I let it evap for 2 days.
I only water when it is dry
PH 6.4

This is my first grow, and I hit a little bit of a problem already. I'm growing two Autoflowers one is Zkittlez and the other is Amnesia haze. Both are 18 days old. I used fox farm ocean forest on this grow and have not been giving my girls any nutrients so far. The Amnesia is doing pretty good although my runoff ppm was still 2000. I was not able to check the runoff on my last watering of the Zkittlez but 3 days befor I checked and it was at 1500 ppm and PH was 7.0. The ph seemed high but I read that is probably from the foxfarm? Now today I was doing some LST and I noticed some rust looking spots on the lower leaves of the Zkittlez. I'm not sure if its a mag problem or something else. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Here's a couple pics of whats going on. I also inspected throughly for bugs and found none.

Is your water from a municipal source? The old practice of letting municipal water sit to off gas chlorine doesn’t really work anymore, as most municipalities use bromine these days, and it takes a lot longer to break down. This is always my first line of advice.

Yeah it's from municipal. My other plant doesn't show any signs of deficiency and it gets the same water. I also had a third one that I snapped yesterday trying LST ( insert sad face here) and it didn't show any signs of deficiency either

If u take the stem u snaped in half with paper medicine tape you can 45 degree cut both stems like a puzzle and connect them again and she’ll heal back together just fine.

It’s from the fox farms. That’s what I used and it’s made my leaves at some spots look like Christmas holly

Haha yeah thats what I've heard. I over reacted during my peak stress and just put it the trash. Hopefully there won't be a next time.

Yeah I was hesitant about trying the fox farm after reading mixed reviews but I went for it anyways. Did you do anything to correct it? or did you just let it ride?

I let it ride. It veggies like anourmous amounts of bud spots but when it flowers it seems like it lowers the amount of density they grow at. They seem thin and tall instead of fat and stalky. A good example of what I’m trying to say is I just started week six of flour and you would think that I was only in week three.

Have you started adding any nutrients? From what I understand fox is only good for about the first 3 weeks and then you need to start adding nutes? This is only what I have read.

I switched to tiger blooms by fox farm since the nitrogen is so low. Where I went wrong was trying to lollipop and scrog one plant to make a pound and I ended up creating more sucker branches that were in reachable. Here’s the whole canopy. I done my final foliage so the last three weeks can grow the buds a little bigger. Could be a genetics thing as well.

Man still looks good, nice work! I mean you never know what your gonna get with genetics from seed bank to seed bank. Yeah I think ill let it ride and keep checking the ppm and add nutes when needed. I'm gonna try cali pro by emerald harvest. It came highly recommended at the local hydro store.

Only think I don’t like about this strain is the lower buds aren’t fluffy they just keep leaving up like a normal cola with little tiny fans and idk if there going to resin up or just grow out and it be no buds.

So a little update on my grow. I figured out I also had rust spots from fox farms and I ended up getting a 440 cfm intake and as soon as I foliated my leaves with a spray bottle it left and haven’t seen any since. I also took my veg light and flipped on a sf4000 and these girls love it. In one week this how far they grew.
