Ive used C02 and I dont believe it is necessary if you can recycle the air in your room every couple of minutes. After you buy a tank, regulator, timer for the regulator, and fill it up however many times you need to. It will take a long time to get your moneys worth. Not to mention, if you want consistent C02 PPM's you need a controller, which is another expense. Also, your temps and humidity have to be on point for the C02 to be effective.im on my 2nd run with co2... once you try it, you wont go back
