Four Year Old Seeds - Worth Growing?

Hey all,

I have a packet of Nirvana NL seeds that are about 4 years old. Out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could germ one, and low and behold it cracked today!

Given the age, and the fact that these seeds haven't been properly stored (in original packaging, thrown into a box with all sorts of other junk), is it really worth my while trying to grow them, or would the quality just be crap?

Thanks in advance! :)
Angie

aslong as it has popped and roots ok i dont see why it wouldnt have the exact same genetics as it did 4 yrs ago. you dont lose genetic quality from treating it bad.

as someone else said it should still be the same genetics an grow the same i did not think storage or anything else would alter its dna structure it will carry the same genetic traits from when it grown from the original parents

My purple bubba seeds are close to 3 years old and I have had like a 85% germ success rate with them. I didn't know anything about how to store them when I first collected them. I left them out in a jar by the window for a year, they were in a draw for another year and I just found them a couple month ago in a box when we moved lol. I would say they are fine.
