four 23watt cfls??

is four 23 watt cfls enough light for 2 or 3 plants?

It is enough to veg 2 or 3 for the first several weeks. Going to want quite a few more for flowering. Keep them close and in a small enclosure - you want walls as close as possible to retain all of the light.

thanks man! im broke atm so im just tryin to get the best set up i can with the money i have =p deffinately gonna upgrade when i get paid again haha, i have a feeling this is a fire hazard tho, are cfls dangerous like that?

If there's enough ventilation, and they're not touching anything, they should be fine. I remember back in high school when I first tried growing in my closet, I had a wooden box with one CFL attached to the top which vegged and flowered one whole plant without any ventilation. The box was so hot, and the plant looked like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of weed plants.

CFLs can dry things out but cannot start a fire themselves. They do not get hot enough to reach any materials flash point and are very low wattage - 4 23w bulbs is considerably less power than my laptop is using right now.
