ok so last night i bought some gdp, which looked and smelled great by the way. started breakin down the first nice sized nug and what do ya know, some seeds popped..

at first i was immediately pissed being as gdp is 25/g here. but then i started thinkin hell i should let these babys grow so i started doing some research

since gdp is clone only, and i ended up with about 6 good seeds, if i grew these would the automatically be herm or do i have a chance of getting a couple females?

thanks and happy smokin :bigjoint:

They probably wouldn't turn herm at all, you only run the risk of males. You should read up on growing and pop those beans. Check out the GrowFAQ.

well being clone only doesnt that mean there cannot be a male? unless this is not TRUE gdp but everything ive got from this dude has always been legit so i dont think that is the case. from what i have read seeds for GDP can only come from a female goin herm and pollinating itself? by no means am I saying you are wrong I just want to get my info straight before i spend time and money getting a set up to grow these as I do not have a grow-op now

Here's the deal, a given strain can have multiple phenotypes(observable traits). The only way to get the desired charicteristics every time is to select a mother and take cuttings(clones). Planting from seed will result with plants of varying quality depending on how many phenotypes a given strain has. When you hear "clone only", it suggests that the particular strain has too many phenotypes to make growing by seed viable. The only way to guarantee the desired traits is to clone.

The bit that you mention about pollination has more to do with feminized seeds. Not every strain can produce reliable fem seeds. If I'm not mistaken, breeders use gibberellic acid to force a healthy female to produce male flowers(pollen sacs). They then take the pollen and pollinate another healthy female and the seeds produced from this are feminized.
