Found powdery mildew on harvest... LOTS of it.

The stuff went nuts on my baby, at 6 weeks into flower :-(

But there may be a bright side to all this...

Somewhere along the way ( probably before the WPM took hold ) i changed food and also combatted some Spider Mites, so sure enough, the plant hermie'd.

So now I have a worthless harvest, except for SEEDS. LOTS of seeds.
They are coming from a plant with WPM, but the seeds are fully formed and mature, brownish with dark spots.
As I understand the seeds are genetically female, but there may be a tendency to hermie with these seeds.

My question: Are they good to use?

It would be nice to have SOMETHING to show for the effort...

Also, being that alcohol kills WPM, would it be possible to use this flower for grain alcohol tincture? I also read that WPM-infected plants can be washed into bubble hash, with a 45u filter as the smallest... any thoughts on this?

You can soak them overnight in diluted h202 before you germ them, I do it with all my seeds, it stimulates germination and gives you a clean start.

It depends on why the plant hermied. If it's just poor genetics then the plants from seed will probably hermie too.

Compared to the time you spend growing a plant from seed to harvest and cure, the cost of good seeds is minimal.

.

Could you show some pics of the pm infected buds? You may be able to save some with a citric acid or H2O2 bath.

This is my 2nd round with the seeds that became this one plant. Earlier round came out wonderful, with no issues, hermies, WPM, mites, etc. just a really easy grow. 2nd round, not so much. It's Zkittlez-feminized from ILGM. I haven't had any weirdness from any of their seeds ever, but then again, I am only growing forless than 2 years ( this was my 3rd round overall, 1st was just bag-seeds - come out decent for high-grade regs. 2nd was with ILGM seeds, a few different phenos that time, all came out nice.)

I washed some with H202/lemon juice/baking soda. that ounce or so was pretty clean to start - nothing to show there.
The others are already smashed up for seed removal, and possibly some Alcohol extraction, if that will kill all the WPM or wash into hash if that can be safe...

If it actually hermied then seeds are not feminized. That occurs with nanners. Plant some. I've run seeds people gave me from hermies and I've run a bunch no problem. However some strains are prone to hermie. Despite your best efforts.
