Found one banana, whole room is fucked?!

Thanks. You're always being helpful to me. I removed the entire plant from garden.

I've heard that once the banana pops, it spreads pollen and pollinates every single plant in the room immediately and there is no escape from that. Is that true?
Don't believe everything you read on forums. People blow shit so far outta proportion it's crazy. You have better chance at winning the lottery than pollinating a room full of plants from one or two nanner's at the end of flower.
If you the full balls full of nanners then you have an issue, other than that don't sweat it. You can pick it off and let it finish. There's a difference between a hermie thats growing balls and pistils early in flower and a plant that;s coming to the end of it's life popping out nanner here or there. I have a strain i've been growing 5 or 6 years that has nanner's around week 9 never found a seed once.
In 8 years of growing indoors I could count the plants I've had really seeded on one hand. People have have problems with hermies are more than likely causing the problem or growing shit genetics.

Thanks mate! :p I'm now relieved!

As to your question = NO!

Don't do this!

DO THIS!

Quit fretting so! I'll bet it's a environmental or over age nanner! Pluck it and check your temps/airflow/RH etc. etc.

You might get a few seeds and you might get none.....it will NOT ruin the plant or it's quality....

Keep a closer eye on this plant and the whole run for more. If other strains do it in this run (if you have more then one). Then you have an environment issue...
So you just told him not to watch the plant or others because thats what I said I would do but because I said it then it must be wrong then you type this "Keep a closer eye on this plant and the whole run for more.".I get it its cool to hate on me mate but seriously read what you type. Anyway I never told him to do anything, I explained what I WOULD DO. People calling me an idiot for managing my garden the way I want to is hilarious. Whats crazy is this is the second post where someone isn't reading what he or I am typing but goes on the offensive cause its cool to hate stoney. Funny indeed.

What you said that I commented on =

if it were me I'd chop it down. No time for hermies or seedy plants in my garden.
A little tender are we? Got a tad of "butt hurt" from the past?
I didn't give it to you! (Then)
I just disagree with an inexperienced, off the cuff statement like that. It's wrong.
So when your wrong (and I have been too-we all are once in awhile) you get people who point that out.

Now of you got more "butt hurt" from that Mr. thin skin,,,,,,too bad!
Get used to it. It happens around here!

Also hermi smoke is the same smoke as non-hermi smoke. They taste the same. The bud doesnt just taste funny when it gets polinated, that's rediculous.
A little funny update on this subject, the hermie plant turned out to be the most potent and the best tasting harvest so far. Smells just unreal! Sour berries with strong notes of fresh lime. Taste is also 5 star! It's so potent that half way through a thin joint, you won't be able to smoke this shit any more! Because you forget!

All seedless. I think I harvested just on time.

I almost cried when I saw it. Went over whole plant and there was only this one. Not going to kill it. 5 weeks into flower and my best plant in a small place.

Anyone know how likely id be to find more? How fast do they pop up? It's 5 weeks into flower. Big Buddha blue cheese. I combed the whole plant there are no more.

Not trying to jack ur thread lol.

Plant looks good, personally I wouldn't sweat a stray banana here or there. Having pollen sacks and pistils from the start is a plant you'd want to pull. I think the worst that'll happen is maybe a seed or two, not even worth worrying about to me. Let it finish and enjoy it, it's a healthy lookin plant.

I agree with the guys saying not to chop. Sometimes those single nanners are not even viable which mean they can not make seeds. Some are. Just pick them off. If you get a few seeds oh well it will still smoke good.

Water ruins pollen. Just mist the younger plants with water. Remove them from the grow area and clean walls just to be sure I you are that worried.

So I found a single banana on one of my flowers this morning. I chopped the branch immediately and moved it out of my room. The question is, can a single banana pollinate a whole room? Should I be worried about my other girls getting seeded? :-|
short answer, yes a single banana can pollinate a whole room, it can pollinate a whole acre.

Big Buddha blue cheese.
Mine was BB Blue Cheese too! Interesting! :-P I planted 5 feminised seeds in a course of two months and only one of them had a hermie problem and threw 1 nanner @ 9 weeks and I think the problem was a tiny little light leak above the plant, and she was fully ready at that time. So I don't blame genetics. Also yours looks a little over fed. It's better to cut back on nutes. BBBC doesn't need much feeding.

How about elaborating that? NOT very likely! Like whitebb2727 said. "Sometimes those single nanners aren't even viable"!
The acre thing is overstated...
If it busts and the wind it right it can pollinate a large area, much larger than a grow room. One male flower can pollinate hundreds of females. My suggestion is to look out for the bananas and run a different strain next time.

This is bad advice, i have seen 1-2 bananas pollinate a whole room many many times. When you say "late in flower" if its late enough that the plants dont have time to seed then you may be alright but the potency will still not be optimal.

Bananas, in my experience tends to mean that she is ripe and when you let any plant go a little longer they can produce that since they never got any pollen. Now any pollination with a banana tend to be very local as in the same bud you found it and at 8 weeks I would just pluck the banana and consider if the plant is ripe enough to take.

Now if you have a ball sac then, yeah, pull it and destroy any clones from it because one of those have a lot of pollen and when they pop it can ruin large crops. So I wouldn't be too concerned I have seen large grows that had a few genetics that would do that once in a great while during the last week or so and never found or heard of any seeds.

That's just my opinion based on my experience. If it isn't a genetic you are too thrilled about anyways then just pull it for peace of mind if nothing else.

I would say it sounds the same to what I have had and I got 10 years. You, or someone else, might of missed a small ball sac hanging on one of the lowest branches and one of those will pollinate an entire room with ease.

Sometimes nanners are produced from late flower or just stress. If the later is the cause then they will also pop out a ball or too and those can go un noticed in a large enough grow.

This is late flower, the strain, or this pheno of is strain could just finish early and be ready to pick regardless. Like I and the other guy said, never once seen a seed and never a complaint of any seeds then again I don't know where things ended down the line.

One banana would only only turn the whole crop if you had really good airflow. And it had opened.

For me. A few seeds here and there wouldn't be a problem. But, then again. I'm not going to be selling what I grow.
Also... Free seeds.

I have long since downsized from years ago and went solo as well. currently I have a 580 CFM fan with Carbon scrubber and that is just for one 8X8X4 room. not to mention circulation fans. Even with the close quarters and massive airflow, I have yet to have a problem. I do miss my old setup, had a 8" duck for intake and one for exhaust, CO2, multiple runs. Had nanners and never had a seed.

like I mentioned above, one of them must of popped out a ball sac and it just was simply not noticed. Those things do happen. Nanners are a mutated stamen, the don't really make much pollen and the only pollination they seem to be able to do stays local to the bud they pop up on. Hence, I wouldn't worry about it since she is coming out anyways.
