Found isolated case of bud rot at chop

Fuck me that’s two plants in a row. I guess I’ll consider myself lucky it was just one bud tucked way in the back

Sucks. Check all your buds real good. If that one was that far along, the others could also be affected on a smaller scale

And even if the rest looks good, i would water cure them to get rid of more possible mould in it. It will not remove the poisonous things that it might have already made there as a byproduct(which are the real danger!), but it should get rid of what causes the rot. However it might not and i doubt it has been studied properly. Also this is purely speculation from having been looking at this a bit years ago, but my understanding is that those poisonous byproducts are produced on that shit you see on the surface more than in the actual root system of the bacteria(which develops first). However double and triple check somewhere to make sure if you are going to smoke it even after water curing. Also if you eat it, it should not be as harmful than smoking it.
Do keep in mind that the thing you see comes later after the mould has already formed itself a good root system to start spreading more. So you dont see the early stuff.
Personally i would most likely just water cure and only make oil from it that i would use on edibles.
Smartest thing might be to throw it all away tho.. But i know, not all of us are that smart and the hunger takes over rationality

Or maybe this is the moment where you could use this crop for the common good and test the old apparently true recipe for the biblical holy anointing oil, which is administered through skin
The theory is that if you add those other increments(i can google the recipe if you want) which speeds up the blood flow on your skin(therefore making it absorb better) and pour enough of strong enough cannabis infused oil on your head, it should work through the skin.
I only know one study that tested the absorption of cannabinoids through skin and it showed that it does absorb a little, but not much and CBD absorbs better than THC, but they do both absorb(which would alter the high and this could be true also for some other cannabinoids that alter the high). However with those other herbs which make the absorption better, maybe, just maybe it could be possible to get high this way, even if you would not cover your body completely with almost pure THC oil.

Put some gloves on and open up all your buds. IME the mold always starts at the stem and pushes outward so it's easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it

They totally were, I probably threw away a quarter ounce or so and that’s after I tried to save what I could, just gonna make BHO out of anything that was near the effected regions
