Found A Few Seeds

I was trimming last night and happened to find two seeds within some of the bud. The seeds look viable, brown with black specks, and a nice hard shell. Is there a drying process that has to happen, or are the seeds able to germinate right away?

Edit: Since I found a few seed, does that mean it's loaded with seeds and I just didn't notice?

John, if you did not consciously pollenate the girls it is possible you may have had a hermie in there? If that is the case I would question popping those beans, as they may result in hermie off-spring.

It may be possible there are a few more seeds in there somewhere.. you'll find out when you start breaking the bud.

Look for light coloured calyxes on the buds and poke them with a pin to see if there's a seed inside. The calyx will yellow as the seed gets close to being ripe.

Any seeds will have about a 50:50 chance of growing hermie plants but if you don't have a lot of seeds to play with it's worth growing some. Let them dry for a few weeks before planting. In nature they would be lying dormant on the ground until the spring.

Good luck!
