Found a bunch of old shrooms. are they good?

I just found a few bags of shrooms in a drawer. they were dried with a dehydrator. i'm thinking it was probably about a year ago. they are in zip-lock bags. there's still a faint fungus smell to them. I'm wondering if they are good, or if I should throw them out? Could they be dangerous? I don't want to eat some, and have a bad trip thinking I poisoned myself... or will they not do anything? Hate to throw them out. No clue how I forgot about so many shrooms. that's a sin.

I'd eat them, can't be dangerous for you too just a bummer if you don't trip. I've had shrooms I held on the for about 7 months waiting for the right time to trip and when I ate them they worked.

If you are just asking about the age of your shooms of known origin, then the age of them is not a problem. Do you know where these came from? Is there any chance they are wild picked? These are literally life and death questions.

Good point - you should be SURE that they are what you presume them to be - beyond that, you might consider pinching the very base off and throwing that away if you think they are wild but you know they are what you think. I have recently read of cases where people get salmonella from the cow dung that clings to the base.

As far as age goes - if you believe that they have not gotten wet and then redried then you are fine. Mushrooms that are poorly dried or re-dried have the possibility of having hosted several varieties of bacteria that produce toxins that will not kill you but can cause stomach distress.
