420 just dont get too attached and become oblivious to the potential danger you could be putting you and your family in... Was thinking of your doe when I remembered a story I seen on the show Fatal Attractions where a guy kept a buck he raised and then for some odd reason (probably because he thought the deer was his "pet") entered the pen during "the Rut" needless to say he was gored and trampled to death.
"A man living in up-state New York was killed when his pet deer attacked him. Ronald Donah, 43 was found by police on Sunday and later died after being taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY.
Police did not release details of Donah's injuries or what may have prompted the attack.
Police did say that deer attacks in the wild are very rare.
The buck that killed his Donah was penned up with six other deer the man kept as pets on his property near the city of Albany. Although Donah had a license to keep the animals, police did not know why he kept them."

Lol, I'm aware of the potential dangers being that I run a hobby farm and have many other types of animals, some of which are a bit more dangerous than a little doe.
Thank you for you concern though, I'm going to try and domesticate it enough to be a pet but not so much that I become blind to the fact it was once a wild animal.

Dear GOD 420God.
that is the cutest damn thing I eva seen! I almost ran over 3 baby foxes on a exit eating some thrown out fast food yesterday, and I was like OUHHH CUTEST THING I'VE SEEN IN AGES. But this little baby doe takes the cake. I hope all goes well for you! Me and my dad found a young doe wandering aimlessly that had been shot in the skull on the road once, we wanted to save him but he was a goner
We put him in the forest away from the roads as much as possible. Your a good man!!

remember deer are wild. you can teach it to remain in contact with humans by putting it in a fence and supplying food it wont leave as long as the food is there. naturally you dont want to corner it when it gets bigger it can jump high and will jump out of the corner and someone can get hurt. what i would do is try to domesticate it. if you have problems with her considering her mother is not there to guide her in the deer ways i would contact a zoo and donate her if she gets to be too much to handle. but personally i would try to domesticate her and see if you can keep her around.

I've been calling her baby and that'll probably be what I stick with and I don't have a choice but to keep her as a pet now that she's made a bond with me.
Once they've made the bond with a person a deer really isn't any different than a goat, the care for her is almost identical.
The more time I spend with her the more comfortable she will be around people and eventually know this as her home.

Maybe I'm a bit of an optimist, but I believe you can domesticate most animals. Yes, a LOT of wild animals can still be dangerous when domesticated, but a deer, ESPECIALLY a female deer, isn't something I would be too worried about. I know people that have horses they let roam in their house, and if a horse can walk around in a house and be okay, then so can a deer! It's not like she's a carnivorous animal that's going to slap you across the face with claws!
I say good on ya! Man, if a stray cat hanging around in your yard is considered good luck, what does a deer do for you? lol
