FOUL Smell

You would increase the air exchange by adding a bigger exhaust fan rather than adding an intake fan. Passive intake is fine. What size tent do you have? And what kind of 4" exhaust fan are you using? When you say inline fan it's not just one of those duct fans is it?

If the RH is 60 in the room the tent is in you should be able to keep it close to that. It shouldn't spike that much in the tent. Something with your setup is incorrect.

The tent with the problem is just a 2’x4’ and it’s a 4” AC infinity inline fan. One major setup issue I just corrected was venting it outside before I just had it venting back into the room which was too humid to begin with I just hadn’t had time to vent it outside but now that’s done plus putting in a whole room dehumidifier has brought the room down to 45%-50% and the tent to 55%-60%

That's a significant drop in RH from what you had. Glad to hear you're getting things under control.

Good luck with your grow.

or mold, you smell any musty smell in it? you have your humidity way too high, I heard these people say this and that about humidity. the only tool you need to know is reading read about the issues and correct them, I ignored most of these people on here & listened to scientists and older growers, I bought the trimmer to put my buds in and it turns, and there go the trimmings as a shake on the bottom of the trays while the trimmed buds stay on the trays, I KNOW ABOUT THE HAY SMELL AS WELL, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY FANS ON THEM, NOTHING, THEY SAY HANG THE TREES FROM THE TOP BRANCHES SO THE WHOLE TREE CAN DRY ON THE LINE, DONE THAT, TURNED TO HAY, what leads me to freeze drying, they wanted 7500 but I got 1 for 3600, I bought it & I got to set the controls but so far I'm not getting the hay smell, you want the bud smell of the terpenes which is dried up, if he has mildew growing in the soil overwater, as time goes on you will get better, the only thing is to do is read, READING IS FUNDAMENTAL! it is it gets quite interesting & can't stop, reading Ed's books. or even go onto Ed Rosenthal's youtube site & watch his techniques & methods, these are the old growers I'm talking about. use this as a tool, don't ask for assistance use your brain, you won't get anywhere by asking questions, you read about them then you'll see the issues & you will know how to fix, it's only experience, you become better if you do it & look things up yourself and read about them, you will know what you done wrong as you'll read then you will see for yourself
I feel like my IQ dropped a few points trying to make heads or tails out of this. Plus it has nothing to do with the OPs question. Meth is bad, m'kay?

Week 4 of flower, last night everything smelled great. This morning I opened up the tent and was hit with the most nasty smell. Best comparison is like when my kids were babies and had a nasty shit. I’ve been struggling with humidity in the tent, even though I have a 4” inline, 3 6” fans a dehumidifier and a damp rid hanger. When I opened the tent it was still up at 74%.

did notice a couple days ago after watering one of the plants had a shitload of runoff, like it filled the drip pan. Idk if it’s root rot or what but I freaked out and pulled that plant out and opened the tent right up to get the humidity down. The plants all look very healthy no discoloration, drooping, clawing or even burnt tips. Just the smell that wasn’t there last night. Any thoughts??
When I see this, you found your own issue. That pot didn't drink as expected. It has an issue. Idk your medium...in soil you would let it dry out fully and water very carefully. Root rot may have started. Can be fixed. Stay calm. Its gonna be fine.

you could also help your situation by upping the temperature a few degrees if it's not too hot roght now
