Fotop 800 led vs 560 full spectrum

Ok guys it’s just about time for my next big order. Getting enough lights/ supplies for 14 4x4 flood Tables. Any suggestions on bulk pricing for supplies would be appreciated. So between the fotop and 560 the difference is 128$ in price per table(Rita last quoted me 79$) . The fotop is bigger and have around 1k more diodes per table. I would only be getting 3k in fotop but 560 R2t boards has different spectrums. What do you guys think I should go with? D7E310C9-E913-48DA-A766-4BDDE1C7F6DF.png

Have you considered going with strips?

That’s the route I would go. Much more uniform coverage.

I could see if you wanted pre-assembled but if you’re going to get heatsinks/drivers separately and DIY then going with strips wouldn’t be all that different cost and assembly wise.
 
Fotops are great to work with, espcially i open space. Such an easy build. Its also hard to get an idea of the 560 board without the spectrum. Do you have it?

There’s so many strips and varied cost. The research alone seem daunting for me right now. I went on the site and navigating it was a hassle for me

The link you posted to was for white spectrum so its hard to evaluate what the difference would be.

As for strips: strips are great but its a loooooong job, and you wanna be 2 commited people for the work. One to hold the strip in place on your sinking while the other drills and cleans metal shavings with a highpower hover. For 14 tables its too much work. Maybe try one table, r2t has some nice strips with a second mono colors channel.

The fotops will work great for general easy work, you can run 3 over 1 tray or 5 over 2 trays next to eachother. The amount of drilling and connections is half. But you need a secure ceiling that will take the weight. Drawback with fotops is if you wanna mix in monos, its not easy to get it sufficiently even, and its hard to find 3 feet monostrips. Run your fotops between 150-200 w without sinking. Make sure you get the 280mm wide fotop, i think theres a narrower version now aswell.

The 560 board: easier to fit in any way you want, and adapts well with 2 foot strips. I would do 6 rather than 4 for better spread. That would also eliminate need for any sinking beyond some basic alu sheet. If you run these boars 4 a tray, 120w each they will need sinking for sure.

As for spectrum: id skip out on the 560 with extra diodes, they will usually be less quality than the whites and you can add this on later. In any case id make sure that i had my monos on a separate driver.

If I was looking to cover a huge area I'd definitely use the FOTOPs for ease of build.
Ño need for heatsinks, just a frame needed. I run mine at around ~150 watts per FOTOP

Didn’t really want to have to order strips just because of extra research on picking the right one. I know I wanted some uv and red on one strip instead of the just deep red and red I have now. Thanks guys didn’t know I would have to sink the 560 boards with 4boards and from the pic I can tell it would need to be more boards so the price difference isn’t that far apart now. Are fotops back in stock

Yes, that was the strip.i was talking about. The nice thing about this one is that its 900mm,just like a fotop and lets you combine easily

Thank you bro, so it says 2 different channels run on different drivers? And you think 2 strips per fixture would be sufficient.

Tbh you might do better with one of the mono strips from kingbright, they also do vlose to 900mm. Avoid the epistars theyre shitty, but cheap.

Looks like I’m going to have to just talk to them all I see is epistar. I hate looking for strips, it’s a whole new learning curve now that they have the uv osram epistar then pricing them out
 
Ok so after a little research I an idea for the uv now the reds. Do anybody know the guy that sells strips, I think he’s based in UK or Canada I forgot his name. Haven’t seen people post about his products lately. He’s who I got my first red strips from.

This is a 4x3 fixture. I think these are the boards with less width then the Rita boards. I’ll have to look up the difference. If I go down to 3 Rita fotops per 4x4. I was thinking I could use 2 R2T strips in between the boards.I would be 2 diodes short of reds then my fixtures with reds. If I can run them at 30watts each it could still work and I could run the whites to make up for the space between boards for uniform coverage. Since I mostly do SOG that’s more important then penetration. I like these simplistic shaped fixtures so I stick with this 4x3 or 3x3.

Scrolling through some post I came across this plug and play led. Working the numbers for this new setup. The fotops is going to cost me 2120, don’t have a shipping quote for strips but let’s say total guesstimate of 860. Then angle alum and drivers. I’ll be pushing 4k which is the cost of buying 7 of these spiders that’s only missing uv but it has blue. Am I looking at this wrong. To me it looks like I’ll be doing a lot of building to possibly save under 300 dollars

That fixture has power for a 4x4 but only spread to a 3x3. Most people see these as equivalent to Mars Hydro. Using 4x Fotops for a 4x3 is 3200 diodes, versus 1152. Also, it looks like your fotops are using lm301b, we went with lm561c at about 80$ per board and the results are still great.
