I'm still new here, and new to growing. One thing I've learned is that there are so many ways to approach growing - many that work, many that are better.
I really appreciate the members and especially the moderators that support RIU and all of us - from the rank amateurs with CFLs and DIY setups to fancy hydroponics and HID or organics and sunlight.

I personally dont have any issues with this User.. but when he started to respond to known trolling members he should have lead by example rather then taking on the guys..
I recently asked what the "rules" are on this board and it pretty much comes down to
1. avoid the trolling hill folk
2. dont verbally assault (attack) other members (Mods incl)
3. Dont post sexual or graphic images.
4. TRY to contribute.
that was pretty much it.. I have been admins/mods on a few other boards and have never seen such LAX rules (which is great to a degree)
among the other qualities for being a mod-admin on any board is you need to have a good sense of humor and thick ass skin.

There's a fine line between verbal assault and getting your post deleted. Maybe not fine. But there is a line. Some of us have found out. (Mods incl) Maybe I slip up once in a while - I apologize.

I am curious. I have been reading through many posts for several months; one is to educate myself on the subject, and in turn, I have also become educated on some of the people who post on RIU. I see a few individuals, that do nothing but try to fuel the flames, and personally attach people, and constantly take posts in another direction. How many flags does it take on a post before it raised the eye of a moderator? Just curious, thanks.

When you hit the report button, it get sent to the admin/globals and to the individual forum mods of the section the flagged post was posted in. If action is taken it is usually fairly quickly.

Shit, I'd love to be a Mod. I've only been on RIU for about 5-6 months now but i've gotten to know alot of people and i'm the farthest thing from a power hungry dickhead lol. I'd mainly want to be a mod to get lock all the "Watch (newly released movie) FREE ONLINE!"
Idk, I got a good sense of humor but i know what crossing the line is. I'd be a nice+fair ass mod if that's something you guys want.

as a mod you only get to report (watch newly released ect ect) we report it if its in our section we delete it, we love the enthusiasm you have trust us we do our best, we are not online 24/7, generally they strike when its about 3-6am . I do not think were accepting mod positions atm though, but if you do see those spams make sure to report them, generally they hit sections the admins are only part of so it takes a bit longer to get rid of
