Formatting hard drive

Hey so i have so much crap on my computer i wanna do a format and start over clean. I have the windows 7 disc OEM disc. So what do i do?

Well, actually, put the disk in the drive, then restart your computer. You may need to go into your BIOS to tell your computer to boot first from the DVD drive.

yea i put the disc in and installed it and now its like i have two windows 7 on. it didnt delete the other one.

i built the computer,

when i restart the computer with the disc in it doesnt give me any options, just starts windows.

when i right click C: and click format it says

"Cannot format this volume
It contains the version of windows you are using. Formatting could make your computer not work."

You can't really wipe Windows while running it. You gotta go into BIOS and tell it to boot from your DVD drive first.

by usually pressing the F2 when the computer first boots up. It will get you into the bios. from there look for boot options and move your cd/dvd drive to top of the list. make sure to SAve and then exit. reboot.... press any key to boot cd/dvd

what he said.
if this fails, take the h/d out and surround it with magnets. that'll teach it. or see if it will blend.
