Foreign misinformation machine

Using a 'the Hill' propaganda to dismiss the very real attack on our citizens, is the very definition of a circle jerk.

Did you watch the video? It was an analyst on the Jim Cramer show who made the suggestion. Not everything can be attributed to foreign bad actors. The video simply told the story of the reddit investors.

Why does it matter where it is that the soundbite came from that the propaganda channel on youtube is using to make this statement that you are deciding 'not everything can be attributed to foreign bad actors'?

Setting up a snowflake for people to pretend like it is acceptable to be annoyed by people pointing out that there is a very real foreign military attacking our nation, and it is a very good idea to not just assume everything is not being manipulated by them.

The Hill is just Russian apologist propaganda pushing progressive narratives.

Also not healthy to assume everything is. I assume you only receive your news from non-narrative based or biased sources? I can't really defend the Hill, or the channel I shared. The analyst soundbite attempting to say foreign misinformation is the cause of this situation, was humorous.

I like to use the Schrodinger's cat analogy when it comes to all things online anymore.

I assume you only receive your news from non-narrative based or biased sources?
Generally I try to, and during those times I get sucked into the click bait, I do try to read it on AP when I think about it.

News is one thing though, lots of information can get reported on any platform, but making sure it is not the narrative that is selling me on what I want to think is another.

I can't really defend the Hill, or the channel I shared.
Right on, I am pretty positive that is the Hill's youtube channel that you shared which is why I said that.

The part I saw was the guy on the Kramer show laughing saying something about not having subpeona power so he really doesn't know and for all he knew it could be foreign bad actors (or something like that).

Being aware of something as impactful of a foreign military attacking our nation using trolls and understanding that there could be a correlation to the fact that internet trolling turned to trading led to this financial story is not as stupid as it may seem.

If nothing else it sets up the possibility that with information from back doors due to things like the Fire eye hack it might be easy to figure out which bets could pay off big. Then using the same trolling tactics that the Russian military has been shown to use they whip up a astroturf flash mob and sneak in and cash out before shit hits the fan.

And this is not me saying it is, but it to pretend like it is absurd to consider it is only helping to dismiss and normalize the real dangers of the shown attack on our citizens.

Isn't there is a plot in a Twilight zone episode where somebody who thought he was human realized at the end that he was just a robot? Maybe we are all just a creation of a Russian military propaganda machine? How would we know?

Luckily people are real and a lot harder to make and develop than a internet account.

This is why I hate clicking on clickbait propaganda links. This is the spam that is on my youtube homepage now because I did click that propaganda video linked at the top.

Notice all the titles are anti-Democrat high quality left troll clickbait. If I click on them again, I am guessing I will start to get deeper down the rabbit hole of propaganda.

Decided to check out the Harris video's comments:

Listening to the video is just nonstop anti establishment/Biden/Democrat branding propaganda.

The fact that the propaganda rag 'The Hill' is even pushing the Gamestop story makes me wonder where the troll is. It could be that this is a foreign action to try to hurt our economy with a social media attack to use as cover, or it could just be them pushing the story (bluffing) to get people to think they may have done it which is a little different way to set up some future troll. We won't know unless we find out one day.

But that is why I say it is easier to just consider the overall propaganda attack that the Russian military has been conducting on us and know we don't know, but to understand the nuance in the story and not fall into taking a side to the point you are arguing in real life about this.

Are you saying that the Gamestop shorting story is a manufactured fake news story invented by a foreign power as a part of their program to attack the US?

I would have no way to possibly know that. So of course not. Im saying it could be many things and is a pretty complex issue.

And stuff like that is often used by the militarized trolls (foreign and domestic) to push click bait that will be used to create 'sides' for people to pretend like they know enough to argue about it.

And after that I was thinking about how it might be linked to something like the Russian militaries hack into our high security computers, which might expose hedge funds vulnerabilities in the stock market. I was further thinking that with that kind of information I would be interested in how easy it would be to set up accounts for them to use in coordination with a social media push. I don't really know anything about it, other than it is a pretty complex story. But I know that is me just bullshitting about what crimes I could commit with all the information that the Russian military has.

So no, I am not saying that this is some manufactured news story.

There is no question that this series of events (reported in the news with Reditt ap investment thing spanked the hedge funds shorting the stock, and the app now getting something like a $1 bilion bailout (non-government bailout) to cover their asses. It is a real story.

I subscribe to the Financial Times. It has a pay wall so I won't link the articles. Also, not interested enough to read through all of them. But here are the front page headlines on this subject from today:

SEC reviews GameStop trading curbs as shares rally again
Markets latest: Bill Gross likens GameStop frenzy to ‘populist political uprising’
Global stocks fall as day-trading frenzy feeds wider volatility
Robinhood/GameStop: off target
GameStop curbs put clearing houses under the spotlight
WallStreetBets throws down challenge to regulators
GameStop’s wild ride: how Reddit traders sparked a ‘short squeeze’
‘Short squeeze’ spreads as day traders hunt next GameStop
Robinhood raises $1bn from investors and taps banks at end of wild week
Anger as brokers curb retail investors’ bets on GameStop
Hedge funds retreat in face of day-trader onslaught

This seems to be a big deal among those in the investment community. I'm not one. I'm a passive investor in Vanguard index funds. This could be a sign that the market bubble is about to burst or it might be only a concern among the hedgies who have been sucking life from weak companies via the short option. I don't know how much of the hoo haw is due to machinations by the evil propaganda machine (also real) but agree with you that it is a real story.
