Forcing Purple?

I was told once that growers can force their plants to change color by growing them in colder environments and then furthering the purplish tint by curing it in even colder temperatures. I have 4 plants that I know are not purple that are developing solid purple branches. What temperature do I need to keep my room at, more importantly the air around the plants, in order to keep this from happening? Is the temp really causing this change or can a plant just change color like that? I'm really curious cuz my personal clone from my first baby (Sour D) is showing purple on the stems, so what gives?

purple stems mean a deffeciency; what you are reffering to is bud color. purps are mostly strain dependent, and are brought to color with temps below 55f. not all plants will go purple, and if they don't do it naturally at 70f, i personally wouldn't bother. just because it's purple doesn't mean it's great stuff. my best buds are very light green.

if ph is too low sometimes they turn purple...not to say there aren't purple strains but if the plant you are growing isn't supposed to be purple...it could be nutes and ph...8 is good

stems, stems, red stems (if not due to strain) are bad, and mean a deff or a lockout due to ph issues (as stated above). if i had to gess, i'd say a phosphorous deff, due to lockout.

Your saying 8 is good ph? I do believe that is a little high. I thought you should shoot for around a ph of 6. Am I wrong?

soil should be 6.8-7.2

hydro 5.8-6.2

tsk. as long as i don't have to hear about the marines being the men's deppartment of the navy.... try working on a tomahawk, or a mk23 TAS.... rantrantrant.... lol

I don't rant about the marines. I have my own opinions on the military having seen it from the inside, but thank y'all for the support.
