Forcing plant to determine sex asap?

Hey!

I'm a PC grower and atm I have 1 seedling inside on 18/6 with 6500k cfls. Because I don't want to waste time vegging and lsting the plant and then finding out it's a male can I put it on 12/12 with 2700k clfs so the plant shows preflowers and then re-vegging it.

How long will it take for the plant to show signs of flowering,right now it is around 3 days old,I've heard that the plant needs 5-8 weeks to show sex no matter what,is that true?

Is it true that the plant stretches alot because of the early 12/12?

How long does it take to reveg it?

I have another question:
After a few grows I will upgrade to 70w hps and I'm wondering if plexiglass sheet or acrylic sheet is strong enough to work as a cooltube. I believe that 400w hps would probably melt it but can it withstand the heat of a 70w (the cooltube would be cooled with pc fans)?

it wont show sex regardless untill you get a few nodes pre flowers show and it matures.

once you 12/12 you can switch back to veg within the first week beyond that will cause alot of stress should give it 48 hours of darkness for sex to show earliest as possible to reduce as much stress as possible

70w is kinda lame if your doing pc you should just use cfls too much heat and the output of such a small hid isnt worth it

p.s im not trying to sell you short but unless you are using a clone or a feminized seed i wouldnt waste your time doing 1 at a time if you do get a male thats 2 months down the drain for nothing you could make a custom glad pot or somthing stick 3 in there and triple your chances of getting a female, i know everyone says 1 plant to a pot its a bad idea tisk tisk.. i threw a handfull of bagseed in a pot 3 poped matured all 3 turned to be female i topped them fimmed them down to the 2 colas and got a 1/8th of of each plant not the best idea but sometimes you do what you gotta do where do you think most of the techniques come from?

I'm thinking of using a 70w with remote ballast because cfl's are supposed to give you fluffy/popcorn buds.Think the heat wouldn't be such a problem since the bulb would be in a ventilated cool tube,or would it?

I planned to grow 2 plants but only 1 seed germinated,have another 1 in water waiting to germinate.

you would only need 1 of em in a pc

im at day 45 of flower and i prolly have atleast 1/2 oz on each plant and the buds havent even started to swell yet they are dense and juicy i just closed the room but if you wait till tommarow ill post some pics cfls exspecially the 8us dont make fluffy buds in any way. they do make pop corn buds tho. but they are good they are just the under developed buds at the bottom of the plant the light couldnt reach but if you trim off the bottom and use a sog scrog technique you won't have to worry about them

I would love to see some pics.So you get dense buds even with cfls?

Can I get a decent yield with a 125w envirolite(200w would probably be an overkill)? Is there much difference than a 70w hps?

EDIT: how hot does ur 150w get? Can you touch the bulb?

I've read you can force just one node to show sex by covering it with a bag or something dark for 12 hours a day. Never tried it, but you can research it for yourself.

Have you tried yelling at it to show sex yet? Always worth a try lol. Plants cant even show sex until their sexually mature, that takes minimum about a month. I suggest growing more then one plant, so you have better odds of getting a female, Its going to take a month or two before you even find out the sex, hopefully all that work was for nothing. Know any clone sources? That might be a good bet.

Just flower the thing and in a week or two...Boom you will know the sex.
Never mind about re vegging... may shock her to become a hermi.
Don't forget to take a clone or two before you flower.

big ass cfls if you decide to go with cfls use the ebay link cool guy i buy from him all the time if you mention my name he will prolly throw in a bunch of free crap

one of my mini cfls fell and...
prolly another 2-4 weeks looks like some crazy indica sativa strain pure sativa prolly atleast another 6 weeks top cola about the size of a apple

you surprised or are surprised? i plan on geting a pro gro 180w led at some point but these seem to make it happen in the meantime. did i mention they r all middi bagseed imagine the results if i was growing with some real genetics

Those are some nice buds growing under cfls,they are huge!! I would suggest that you get a smaller watt 6500k while flowering as the leaves start to die soon after put in flower because you only have one spectrum. Really nice grow!

i plan on getting a mini hps at some point or a cmh buds are nice not as crystaly as i hoped but for some stressed burnt up and pissed off little plants not bad for cfls
