Hola amigos :) I have 4 autos in my tent at WEEK 7, light schedule 18/6. Only 2 have started flowering, the other 2 sadly have NOT and barelyyy have any pistols on them also. SO quick question...will it badly affect the 2 that are flowering if I change the light schedule to 12/12 to force the 2 that aren't flowring???.....

Might slightly reduce yield.

Haven't there been some "autos" recently that needed 12/12 to trigger flowering, but after that could be switched back to 18/6 for the rest of the cycle? Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Would still be a breeder fuck up.

Wonder if the breeders involved would ever acknowledge the error, or just pass it onto the grower as there fault.

12/12 in photos causes a hormonal shift, from veg to flower based on seasons, an adaptive genetic trait. Autos shift hormones on a time line, it's a self-preservation genetic trait.

I can't say one way or the other, as I'm not a geneticist. Does it sound plausible.,. Maybe lol.

Could have the photo genes to trigger the hormonal shift, but the auto genes to not reveg.
That would actually be really useful. Trigger flowering when she's the right size, not have to worry about keeping a short light cycle, flower under 18/6. Autos give bigger yields under longer light cycles, can you imagine what you could get from a plant vegged for a few months, trigger flowering, then switch back to 18/6?

Yea, finish flowering in half the time. Would be badass, but I dunno lol.

How though? If you get an auto that won't flower you usually would just put it under 12/12 to trigger, a bunch of other people have done that. Would you risk them revegging by going back to 18/6?
And how many people out there would try to breed "defective" auto plants?
If you did would you then be able to breed it true?

Solid points. I'm not sure on all counts. All my autos flowered by themselves, but if I encounter one, I'll try it.

Make a thread about it and try to get some volunteers that are having this issue to run some testing. It's definitely worth the interest.
