I have been growing a plant outdoors for about a month now and its getting taller. but i am impatient and was wondering if i took my plant inside and gave it 12 of light and 12 of dark from my florecent. do you think it will work or kill the plant?

no it wouldn't though the sun is a biggillion fifillian times stronger than any flouro on earth. you would get way bigger yields if you just left it out, also to flower a plant indoors you have to expect it will at least double in size if not tripple by the time your done with it. might be a pain keeping it in your house, try putting candycanes and those crome globes on it, you could say it's a christmas tree... there are otherways to force flower, for instance you could move it into a shed for 12 hours a night or put a garbage can over it for the same time, just make sure you have absolutely no light leeks.

you could leave it out side just pu a big garbage bag over the plant to force daekness to trick the plant to flower

Trash bag will kill your plant because it cant breath, i had a buddy use one awhile ago to keep his plant out of site when his rents threw a open house party as they were selling the house, 5 hours later she was not doing good at ALLL, word to the wise cover your head with a plastic bag and see how long you last :)

Your buddy was probably doing something else wrong. Weve discussed the issue of plants needing to "breathe" during light dep. and its been pretty set in stone that they dont. Also, minor light leaks wont cause as many problems as ppl fear monger about.

It's true, my light dep plants are in a shed with 1/2" gap around the door. It's enough light to barely see by, when the door is closed. Still flowering great. I also don't use air pumps during the dark period in my bubble buckets. There's all kinds of things that are totally overblown.

Based on that theory, all plants that are growing outside and are exposed to moonlight should definitely hermie. NO. The whole light leak thing is bull crap and ive proved it. Indoors as well.

Ive force flowered the last 2 seasons and intend to again myself. Works like a charm. If your going to do that though, like was already said, dont use your light just let the sun do its thing. What I do is take them out when I go to work in the morning (4:30 am) which is pretty much sunrise, they then go back inside at 4:30 pm this works well for me. If your feeling lazy and you dont want to get up to bring them out in the morning, you can always move them out of the shed once it gets dark out and let the sunrise wake them up like normal. As the season goes on you can adjust your times very slightly to accomadate the time the sun rises.

Had very nice results with very nice tight buds. Only drawback is that I kind of have to leave them smaller because packing in 10 monsters every morning isnt my idea of a good time and I kind of need to keep a low profile.

I have been popping a couple of mine inside the bulkhead doors to the basement. so dark in there you can't see your hand in front of your face
