i remember reading ed rosenthal's book marijuana growers handbook and seeing a picture in it that showed a tiny sea of fully flowered clones and it said they were grown 5 per sq foot and forced to flower and were all just over a foot at harvest. and they all had huge colas, though it looked like that was all they had, was one large cola each. i am curious if anyone has ever done that and how soon you would force flower for something like that...?

is there a special method for that?

Nothing special at all, as soon as your clones are rooted & stable shift to 12/12 lighting & they will flower. SOG = Sea Of Green.

I'm sure more experienced growers will clarify, but I believe that you can do that by putting your plants on 12/12 from the start. I've heard of people starting clones/seedlings on 12/12 from the start and being able to harvest in 45 to 60 days. Supposedly it will only give you one large bud per plant, but if that's true you could just grow a lot more plants in the same area because of little or no branching. I'm new to indoor growing, and would love to learn more about this method from some of the more experienced growers (for my closet grow set up, that method MAY give me more yield in a year, but I worry about the quality if it's being rushed or harvested prematurely).

Just veg it under 18/6 lights until you want to flower it, then leech the nitrogen out and add bloom nutrient and set the lights to 12/12. The longer you wait to flower it the bigger the final plant will be.
