i just got a walmart visa card today. long story short it makes you give a ssn to activate it. it also says only for use in the us, but of course they don't print this stuff on the package so you can read it, you have to fucking open it. i used to use simon mall visa gift cards but because of fucking nanny laws in my state the government has decided that it is in my best interest to not make the cards available here because the company has the audacity to have the cards lose value after a year. they just did it this past summer and i knew nothing about it, and the fucking amex cards they use now are basically for decoration only. i guess i'm gonna get one of those nfinance cards. the website only gives locations to reload them, it doesn't specify whether the location actually sells them but i assume they do. what a fucking pain in the ass. i bet they'll be nice and cunty about giving me a refund on the walmart card, too.

should sell them too i guess... i used the map, went to the store and got it. they had to load it up with whatever amount u told them plus the 3 dollar charge.

Oh.. You mentioned taking pics. If it came in stealth packaging u might not want to show pics of that. Some people say that's a no no.

i would think the ssn would be a legal requirement, which should affect both cards
so it's confusing

honestly the only reason i'm on this thread is because i went to get my usual card yesterday and got a surprise. i've been using simon mall cards for years to buy seeds. i will point out that when i called for a refund on the walmart card today the lady offered to activate it WITHOUT my ssn, but because of the "us only" warnings i'm not going to go through the bullshit just to not be able to spend it where i want. the ssn thing really sketches me out, even if they "make an exception". it's a fucking GIFT CARD. i WILL NOT give you my fucking ssn on top of the 3 nonrefundable dollars you raped me out of just to buy the thing. what the fuck are they doing with that information? it could also be on a state-by state basis. my state really has a hair accross its ass about the gift card hoopla ever since some whiny cunt went on the news crying about it. then boom, no more gift cards.

walmart isn't going to break any laws they can't afford to break

i dont know, but i did read on net with new laws they were supposed collect the ssn. but on the nfinanse site they say the only reason they have to collect ssn is if u plan on reloading online. i think it said something bout U.S. but i dont remember and done tossed the card, but it worked!
this was a great thread for this info, i did some checking online for some the reloadable cards
some mentioned ssn right up front, some didn't, the nfinanse didn't
what i'm wary of is that it's unpredictable, the same card may not activate on purchase
which seems to be what i see from the many mixed experiences, one person will have no problem, others will have problems

A little late to the game to troll??? (The last post before yours was in June, yours was in October) Why does it matter to you what others discuss? Please don't go around making smart ass comments to raise your post count, it just makes you look like a jerk. And FYI this is good information as it is hard to find a pre-paid card that works anymore.
