For those w/ males, don't lose hope!

Ok, so I recently posted about "oh no, my plant's a male" what to do?!?

I was really depressed, after all, I don't have a good access to seeds, everyone throw's 'em out =/, and i spent months on my male plant.

I know some of you will tell me, Bad noob, bad, but this worked for me, and my plant is still as healthy as ever!

Once I noticed the pre-flowers ALL being male, I shocked the hell out of it's photoperiod. During 12/12, during the day, every hour of light i gave it 15min of dark... and same w/ the dark... except i only did that twice a night cause i do have to sleep after all. I did this for 4 days straight. The top 2 nodes which are now fully grown in those 4 days, all female. I see the pistils, it's all there.

So don't fret, if you really wanna keep ur plant and it's ur only one, this might work for you too! If you want seeds for later on, keep the pollen sacks, if not, harvest those before they pop and the top half of your plant will still be female, plus you'll have plenty of pollen for your clones when you do want to have seeds! Now I can keep going, 6 more weeks roughly til I can harvest I think, I want to harvest 50/50 clear/cloudy for a more head high anyways. All I feed is molasses, even during veg and I noticed all the white freckles on my plant being the start of the trichome stalks, and now they're very noticeable up close anyways.

I want to thank everyone at RIU, I've only recently been posting but I've been reading for months now, and thanks to all of your advice, I now have a beautiful 1.5' tall half male/half female. I have been taking pics of the plant since I saved it from my horrible friends (poorly treated plant), and near the end of it's life I'll post and explain what I did to turn from chump to champ (for a stealth grow personal plant atleast.)

nice! Very interesting read. I hope mine come out as little ladies. If not I may have to try it on a male(if there is any, crosses fingers and hopes not).

Looking for to future updates!!

I got the impression from on here that female plants will show their sex later, so if there's a part of your plant than hasn't shown sex yet, stress/shock the plant and cross your fingers.

I'm not saying it's a fullproof method, but it is definitely possible!

hmm that is very interesting i knew you could stress a fem into a herm. but male to herm is amazing. i wonder if it would still produce feminized seed if it started out its life as a boy.

either way very good info.

yeah, i was under the impression that males couldn't turn into hermies either. but i guess since the new growth hadn't shown signs of sex yet, that while the bottom parts would be screwed, who knows?

Btw, how do i make hash out of all the fan leaves?
