For The "Liberals" In The Forum ...

Rasmussen has been running individual candidates (official and non-official) against Obama. Paul got 37% and Obama 41% on their individual matchup. While that is not as good as some of the other candidates, I see it as a sign that people are starting to once again warm up to the idea of individual freedom over the authority of the government.

What's going to be the biggest part of this uphill battle is explaning his positions on things like the civil rights act, ADA, and a few others. I heard one poster in another post try to equate Paul's position on those issues as advocating and promoting racism; that person isn't just an isolated example, as many people seem to think the government's job is to dictate morality - the left is just as guilty as the right in this position.

It's time to stop playing left vs. right, conservative vs. liberal, Democrats vs. Republicans - and find the candidates that actually believe in protecting the rights (life, liberty, & property) of our citizens. Find candidates that will actually follow the Constitution, and not just cherry pick the parts that agree with them. Don't like certain parts of Constitution? Neither do I, but I want our government to follow it as written... We can change it, there are several different ways to amend it, some of which do not even include our Congress. In fact Thomas Jefferson wrote directly about this, and suggested that every generation should hold a constitutional convention to present amendments to the states for ratification. This is much better than saying the document is outdated and obsolete, and therefore should be loosely interpreted.

now if only Ron Paul would get a chance to run against Obama..
The debates would be Epic
Please everyone register Republican Monday and vote in the Primarys vote Paul and at leats get the issues on the table and in the headlines even if you don't vote for him in the election just get him on the ballot- every other republican is a joke and the media gives Dr Paul no respect.

I read up on that baggage. Scary shit.
Here's a rundown of that baggage:

1 - When faced with a possibility that the state might have executed an innocent man, Perry replaces three members of the Texas Forensic Science Commission (who was investigating this matter) - to include the head of the commission. The new replacement cancels further meetings regarding the case.
http://articles.cnn.com/2009-10-01/justice/texas.execution.probe_1_willingham-case-cameron-todd-willingham-execution?_s=PM:CRIME

2 - Mandates HPV vaccine to all sixth grade females through executive order. Merck holds the patent on this vaccine. Merck contributes to Perry's campaign. Perry's former chief of staff was a lobbyist for Merck at the time this all went down.

3 - Thinks illegal immigrants should receive the in-state tuition rate, while legal U.S. citizens who are not Texas residents should pay higher out-of-state tuition rates.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/special/07/legislature/4465325.html

4 - Shows his belief in free market economics by supporting government rebates similar to the current federal Chevy Volt program.

I voted for the prick in '02, never again... This guy is dangerous. Item #1 is enough to convince me this man is willfully evil, and not just ignorant.

I support the death penalty as a rightful punishment when reserved only for the most egregious of crimes that can be proved without circumstantial evidence; however I think it's current usage in our justice system is atrocious. If we cannot convict the recipients of death penalty cases to 100% accuracy then it needs to be done away with.

I've come up with a voting plan for 2012... but it's damned controversial.
In the primary I will vote for Paul. If he takes it (unlikely) then I will cast my vote for him in the election. If the GOP nominates another like McCain (Romney, Giuliani, etc.) I will vote for Obama, unless the Libertarian ticket can beat the 5% mark (which would place the Libertarian party in the debates).

Why would I vote for Obama instead of the lesser of two evils? Because if we're going to bring down this republic, let's do it like we mean it - no more fucking around with the half-assed Republicans (they've failed us with this fair-weather patriotism). I don't intend to live my life in a soft tyranny where the lesser of two evils is not going to change direction - but is only going to take longer to drive us off the cliff. I would rather still be able to work and be productive when the time comes time pick the pieces back up to rebuild this country.

I totally feel ya man. This is a pretty good idea and i never thought of that. I like where this is going. Either Ron Paul or Soetoro because Soetoro one more term would be absolutely devastating, it would rock the foundation of this continent with blood in the streets. :hump:

Not a good idea in my opinion. Here's why: Small government, TEA Party Republicans, had a historic midterm election six months ago and replaced a lot of RINOS and liberal Dems. We need to take over the Senate in the next election, then vote in (I'm gagging here) ANY Republican candidate for President. This way, Obama and his union thugs will be out of national power and we will have a House and Senate controlled by Marco Rubio, small government types, who can pressure our gag-reflex Romney/Giuliani type President into signing into law, those laws that will reduce spending, balance the budget, close unnecessary departments like the Department of Education, and begin work on turning the Pentagon into a triangle. :)

But isnt this like swabbing the arm before a lethal injection?
What i mean is it will critique us to be strung along in more soft tyranny.

Like I said, it's damned controversial...

Another way of looking at it is this: The Democrats need no help in ripping apart and looting every last resource in this country, so why even allow an establishment Republican in office to help? He/she will only slow them down, not fight them on the necessary intellectual grounds. Will they give up the powers not afforded in the Constitution? I don't believe they will.

One of the reasons I'm a huge RP supporter is that I have a reasonable expectation he will relinquish those powers that are not in article II of the Constitution, and will veto anything the congress passes that is not constitutional. The others? They all say they will, but the more I watch their inverviews and speeches on YouTube the less I believe them. RP has yet to do this from what I've seen.

And this is the true debate, isn't it Uncle Buckie? The Parasites vs the Producers? Let me tell you something, Uncle Buckie, you and your ilk had better pray that anyone like Ron Paul never gets into office. If they did, they would educate the populace and we would be heading back to metal-backed money, issued by the U.S. Treasury, instead of debt currency issued by a bunch of gangster central bankers. Why should you worry? Because gold/silver separates the worker from the non-worker. The enthusiastic from the slacker. The Yellow Fin Tuna from the leech. The producer from the parasite.

Federal Reserve Notes represent money placed into circulation without a work basis. Gold/silver represents just the opposite.

Now think that one over today in between your naps. :)

I don't see your point in voting for Obama though, unless you're looking for a complete collapse of the system. Man, another four years of this joker and we're sunk. I'm thinking that even a RINO president will be FORCED by his own party and a Republican Congress and Senate to start turning this debt and regulation morass around.

Love your posts, by the way. Right up there with the great Undertheice, and that's saying a lot. :)
