just wondering for a 4x4 tent what would be the best light to use. im on a budget and ive already got a 600w hps but i see a Led light called a mars ts 1000 with less heat and not so much electricity used. just wondering if any of you guys use this type of light. and what you think of them. should i stick with the hps or or change.

You would need 4 of those ts1000 in a 4x4.

A lot of people make that assumption that’s why manufacturers label them in such a way, to make sales to those who don’t read the fine print or actual specifications. Good luck in your search

Of those TS series lights, the TS 3000 is the one you want. I believe Mars is discounting them since they're moving away from that style of light

I run a Medic Grow Fold 8 in a 4x4, it just fits. It's a 750 watt light but I run it at 80% which is somewhere around 550 watts and it's perfect, actually more light than I need, but that's a sweet problem to have. I think with the discount is was around $550 when I got it. I love how cool it runs at 80%. Just giving you another cost effective option. You could always go with a 600 watt HPS for $129 (or less, I'm not up to date on the prices), that's your cheapest option if these LEDs are out of your price range.

i got the ts3000 and a 4x4x7 tent combo for i think 500 shipped last april. been using it for my first grow from seed to harvest, about to chop my first 4 plants next week. mr growit did a par test with this light on youtube and it performed pretty well (i think?). check it out for what you can get out of it. i think its more of a middle tier light, but it will get the job done for my personal grow space. My plants seem to be pretty happy with it and I know I could probably double whatever my yield is next time by training and just feeding better - i kind of starved my plants this time. They went through water very quickly (every 48 hrs) in my 5 gal fabric pots and always seemed to be hungry. I might save and get a better light and bigger tent for a better flower space and use the ts3000 in the 4x4 for veg and mommas in the future. But for what I wanted, I am pretty happy with the light thus far. I had to get everything, so dropping 800 on a light was a tough pill for me to swallow when I had to get everything else too.

If you go Mars hydro go for the FC-SERIES I wouldn't recommend the ts models. I prefer bar style led for tent coverage area.
