Flushing?

Are you soil or hydro. Both require differant flushing methods. Basicly you want to clean out all the old nutrients. You can use a clearing agent to help out. With soil I flush twice once before flowering and once before harvest. The timing is important to get it clean pior to harvest or its too late. You can use a ppm nutrient meter to chech how well you are flushing. General rule is flush 3 times the amount of proper ph water to flush. ie. 5 gal bucket would need 15 gallons of flush. Hope this helps I m new at this also. Good question

I have read over 20 books on marijuana horticulture now, and the general consensus seems to be that flushing is not a good thing for your plants (NOTE: I'm referring to flushing before harvest for "taste")

If you blindfold a person and ask him to tell the difference between organic and non-flushed chemical grow, they wouldn't be able to!

Otherwise,, yea just plenty of water for 5 days worked for me!

I also flush with straight water(PHed) twice, once at the beginning of bloom and once at the end. Personally, I don't use 3X the pots volume, it's closer to 2X. BUT, I have to down to a science, monitoring runoff until I KNOW it's clean, then stop there. The key is to pour the water in evenly, so the soil gets cleaned evenly. I use a watering can with a sprinkler type head, which simulates rain, and washes the soil nice and evenly. If I just dump a bunch of water in really fast, alot of it runs down the edges of the pot, finds channels to run through quickly, and doesn't flush nearly as well as if you do it carefully, and evenly. IDK about you, but I'd much rather pour in 10 gallons per pot, than 15 gallons. :)
