Honestly I would say if you’ve over fed your plants and they are in bad shape by all means go water only for a week or two

To change the subject up a bit,
white mildew
Ive been noticing the odd patch hear and there on lower leaves and on the tiny buds at the very bottom of the plants, i have defoilated and lollipopped a touch to get the air flow going, gave the tent a wash down with mould killer and iso. Gunna keep on top of it but ive got some girls probably about 5 weeks too young and another pair in their final 2/3.
Has anyone had experience dealing with mildew? Is it something i need to be concerned about at this stage?

Do you run a humidifier? I did, and got mildew in a week.(3 weeks ago)
I roughly wiped it off the tent/light bulb/etc, and keep RH below 60, allways. It's completely gone now.
Didnt use cleaning agents, air circulation and occational dry air alone seemed to do the trick.
Edit: I forgot you're in flower, ofc you don't run a humidifier.
Maybe I should add, I installed a powerful fan and run it just a little pr day, to get air penetrating everywhere and drying things up. Don't want those buds to rot

Had a bit of rain for a few days, humidity went waaay up and hey presto, mildew, fortunately its back in the low 50's so hopeully it'll stay away.

Risk increases when temps and humidity are inconsistent. Big swings in rh or temps = breeding environment for PM.
Lights off rh spikes are common, but should be avoided with proper temp/rh management.

This is the lone uncontrollable condition in my tent. None the solutions work in my basement.
If i control humidity, temps get too low. If i only worry about temps, humidity gets ridiculous. I just try to spit the difference with lower than ideal temps and humidity stays lower.
Lots of compromises, but..... knock on wood, no pm issues so far. Yields may suffer but for personal use it is just good enough for my needs

Hmmm. Never even lived in a house with basement. Here's what helps me.
50pint dehuey in my 4x8x8 (I have the floor space luckily)
Day and Night, I vent the tent based on temperature, not RH. (or sealed running wall banger AC - AC keeps tent cool lights on. Vent during lights off)
15 minutes before lights out, a timer turns on my dehuey, preset to 40%.
The dehuey creates heat as it dehumidifies....so it vents as needed based on temp I set.
At the cost of energy, it works for for me.
Is it your basement that is always high RH.....outside air high RH also?

Basement humidity isnt the issue really except for summer.
In the winter basement temps are 65 f near constant with very low humidity. If i run the exhaust full time, temps are 65 in the tent
In the summer temps are around 70 to 75 with the water heater, laundry etc down there but humidity is around 50.
Tent i can try to keep stable, but at lights out humidity spikes if im exhausting based on temp, or gets too low if i exhaust on humidity.
I use led, so i know i should be keeping temps in the low to mid 80's, but that really isnt realistic with the amount of transpiration that goes on with temps that high.
I could try a dehumidifier this time of year, but in the winter it really wouldnt solve anything.
