Fluorescent tubes pointless?

SIB.ANNA - Much appreciated, will definetly look into that.

Hookd, i'm costing up your 26W lamp idea, along with Gastankers vanity unit fixture, although will possibly just get some ceramic lamp holders and mount them myself for ease. I'm gagging to get building! Just looked through your journals too, loving the pics. Good luck with the latest set up :)

I am setting up my first grow with fluorescent tubes. So far germination has been smooth I have been using one hood with two 40 watt cool white bulbs with two 20 watt CFL's alongside it. I made the germination area completely reflective to maximize the light. When the plants get bigger they will be moved to an area with four hanging fluorescent lights each holding two 40W cool white tubes. I will be using the hempy bucket technique. Follow my grow journal I'll keep you updated on how it goes. I am using these lights because it was free and I am not making any light purchases over the internet just yet, I want to get a harvest in under my belt before I get to many expenses. Hope everything works out.

I use t12 tubes and i think it should go great , some people flower under t12's
Yeah, t12 work exxelento:hump:
My first and still only one indoor grow went down with t12 fluros and mixed in some cfls and one 70w hps..the yield was incredible and i got some killer bud, with nice crystals all over the place..i could say my grow were as good as any other in here...I will grow in future with t12 again and mix some other stuff in it as well, cas it has proven to be really nice setup and i like it:hump:!!!

Yo anyone got some ideas on the best spectrum to use with the T12? I have cool white right now in the 41K range. I saw some daylight bulbs at the store for the 65K range. Also some other assorted bulbs. I want to go into the veg state next so I know I want a higher range then when going into flowering. Is it worth it to just mix in a couple daylight bulbs? I'm probably going to try it out no matter what but I'm thinking 4 daylight bulbs and 4 cool white for my veg.

im using a 8 bulb t5 setup for my plants. they are currently seedings. what i dident to prevent any harm from comin to my new shoots was to keep only 4 of the 8 bulbs on, and i kept the lights about a foot above them till they really got there first set of leafs going. after that i slowly brought them closer to the lights and then after they got more used to the lights i turned on the other 4. they are about a week out of the dirt so far and doing wonderful. id say the t5s and very nicefor providing light to all plants over a larger area then some other kinds of lights and doesent make things too hot. imo its a great light for those of us just starting and dont need the hassle of the MH or HPS lights just to get that slightly higher yeild.

Phyzix - Those plants are looking tidy! Were the lower leaves cut before you got them or did you do that yourself? I'm planning to SCROG when I get setup and i'll be looking to do something similar with my lower leaves...
