does anybody know if my plant needs to be induced into flowering or if it will flower on it's own? also, my plant is indoors and i just use sunlight, not lamps. am i wasting time? my plant is like a foot tall and looks nice and healthy. it has 8 'sets' of leaves.

depending on the amount of light its getting, it might not go into flowering. the plant needs to get a sufficient amount of light. where inside do u have it? how many hours of light does it recieve? might want to consider picking up a cheap light. just an idea. at first the plant wont need a lot of light but as it matures its needs become greater

What light cycle are you running? How many hours of light and darkness are your plants receiving? If plants receive more than 12 hours of light a day they will not go into flower unless they are an autoflower strain so if they are not an autoflower strain and you are giving them more than 12 hours of light you need to cut your light cycle down to 12 hours per day or slightly less (if you use a mechanical timer and it can take extra time above that of what it set for to actually turn off).

First off, I would get it out of the window or w.e If your not growing it outside then sunlight should be its lightsource. You have no control over the light period as well as depending on the window etc. It can be blocking certain spectrums and UV rays that are good for the plant. At least get you some 6500k CFL's at least 27w true watts (not incandescent equal) they are cheap you can get like packs of 4 at lowes for like $8 or so. Get a cheap digital timer and make you a setup either in a closet or make a grow box etc. You can throw together a fairly nice homemade grow setup for one plant for very cheap if you have a little enginuity or search for examples on here. Keep it on a 18/6 light cycle for as long as you want to veg, then switch it to a 12/12 light cycle and switch your 6500k cfl's for 2700k's. I could go one but just do some research on here and you will be good.

hey thanks man i appreciate the advice. i just went to lowes and got a 300watt 3900 lumen bulb, and tin clamp thingy for the socket. it is like 12inches now so you think i should keep it on a steady 18/12 now, or just do 12/12 right away? it has 8 to 10 'sets' of leaves as of now.

Uhmm... what kind of light is it? what is the color temperature of the bulb? you NEED 6500k (cool white) for veg

it says soft white...puts out 3900 lumens. so if i buy one more i should be able to flower? also, my apartment is high up and no one can see into my sliding glass doors that recieve ample sunlight (no obstructions like trees in the way or anything) so i have the light on it with tinfoil behind so that it can recieve sunlight at the same time. smart or no?

The tinfoil will create hot spots and can burn the plant, so get rid the tin foil. Next what kind of bulb? If its incandescent (like a regular light bulb its not going to work) you need a CFL or compact flourescent bulb(they will look like a spiral'd tube) You need 2700k cfls for flowering. If your plant is a foot tall you might as well go ahead and go into 12/12. If you want to veg longer, then you need the 6500k CFLs the 3900 lumens is not the temp(color) of the bulb its how much light it puts out. On cfl's they will tell you the temp(color) usually 2700k or 6500k there is also some others like 3500k and so on.

These are CFL's
